Description

I saw a wooden Portable watercolour palette online, but it isn't have all of the features i wanted in a portable watercolour palette to have, because it didn't have enough pans or separated mixing trays, so I created this.

To connect the two parts together there are holes cut out in the two pallet parts, these have been designed to fit 3mm diameter circular magnets. Due to inaccuracy in 3D printing, you may need to use a knife or drill bit to increase the size of the holes to allow the magnets to fit in.

To stick the magnets to the palette parts, I would recommend using super glue.

To attach the pallet to a sketchbook or clipboard, you may want to use a large bulldog clip.

As something to wipe my brush on, I added a small piece of foam I cut out and placed into one of the mixing trays.

I made it shorter/thinner so it would be easier to carry with my Traveler's Notebook. It's the same width, though, so the magnets are the same. I don't have the right size magnets for it yet, but I will get them eventually :)

that clip is really cool, Just wondering where you got that and the brush, also in the flat longer tray, you may want to put a bit of foam to dry off the brush with, also i used the larger palettes on the left side, for more commonly used paints, cause they would store more paint, just a suggestion, hope it helps, its really cool to see so many people using my design.

I don't recall where I got that particular clip, but here's a listing for the same clips on aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807496790945.html . The brush is the one that came with this mini paint set: https://amzn.to/4aiRaGy . If I ever take this palette out and about I will put a piece of foam in, etc. But this setup was just for the picture here. :)

It printed fine. I didn't realize it was this small so I'm going to re-print larger. It is a nice palette. (moved to 5 stars)

yea, i know its kinda small, i wanted it to be able to fit inside part of my pencil case, btw if you are re printing it, remember the magnet holes will increase in size too.

ahhh. I see. you've gotta put that picture up (inside your pencil case) so we can see it. if you did and I missed it, my bad. that's a great idea. I definitely get the concept. I sent it to 5 stars. again, great efficency

yea, sorry, I thought that holding it would give it size reference to my hand

sorry I didn't know it was meant to be that small. How well does it work being so small? And again my apologies.

it was also tiny cause i wanted to be able to clip it to an A5 sketch book, I tried to use my hand in some of the shots as scale reference, but maybe it wasn't that helpful, what do you think i should do in future to better show the scale of something?

I found the squares on the left palette too small, and the square with the sponge is nonsensical to me Otherwise, everything is impeccable
