Description

Boost Me (for free)

Do you like this model and is it functional and useful? BOOST ME :)

This filament spool model, designed for 200g filament samples, is an ideal solution for 3D printing enthusiasts looking to save space and material. The spool consists of two parts that can be easily screwed together using a threaded connection. The spool includes cutouts that allow you to insert the filament's start before winding and securely hold the end after winding, preventing the filament from unwinding on its own.

The honeycomb pattern strengthens the spool while significantly reducing the amount of material needed for printing. It's fully compatible with the AMS Lite system, making it versatile for various setups. Due to its small size, it’s space-efficient and easy to store.

  • 110 mm outer diameter,
  • 52 mm hole for the handle,
  • 66 mm diameter for the filament winding area.
  • 40 mm width  for the filament winding area

One thing: this model doesn’t seem to hold 300g as advertised, more like 100-125g. Overall, this works to store my filament, and I do like the screwing mechanism instead of glue, and it fits my needs (storing the last 100g or so of spools).

If you wind the filament nicely and evenly, 300 should fit. But I'll check again.

Oh ok, yeah it makes sense that more would fit wound evenly, but I would assume even then it wouldn’t tripple the filament amounts… maybe it would, I just kinda threw the filament on there. I can also check too, I’ve got two more spools printing and lots more filament I can try to wind evenly

I rewound my spool, I put about 110g on it, it does have some space for more filament, but I don’t think it’s 200 more grams worth. None the less, it’s still a great print, and a nicer spool than the others I’ve printed

I made this clip https://makerworld.com/en/models/146046#profileId-158978 fit in the holes in your spool. Let me know if you want the 3mf + f3d files!

I just did that, but you can't post f3d files on a Print Profile.

no printing flaws, good size and looks nice. only minor issue is on my new AMS lite it is an extremely tight fit, but still workable. I have more and better pictures but due to flaws in the app it will not let me select photos from my photo album

Good design but much material is needed to print.

Used it for a solder spool. I just scaled it to 30% and it works perfectly.

This works great! It fits on the AMS and I am using it for some 3D pen PLA filament that I happened to get.
