Description

Heavy Duty Ratchet Strap Winder with Tensioning Spring

What makes this design unique is the optional spring that tightens the band, which means that even larger ratchet straps are rolled up nicely.

What is needed to print this:

  • Use my print profile. That way, the objects are imported correctly and will be printed correctly.
  • Print in PETG. It is especially important that the spring is printed in PETG as PLA is too brittle.
  • If you choose to print using the STL files, the crank handle and crank handle swivel must be imported as an object, as one is placed inside the other to create an easy, frictionless cranking.
  • The pins should fit in the holes and remain in place without glue. If they are loose, it can be glued in place.
  • The pins only fit in the right hole, insert with chamfer first.

Assembly:

  1. Assemble the handle with the main plate. Make sure to its the right way, it can be mounted in 2 ways depending on if you right or left handed.
  2. Insert 3 pcs, 10 mm pins.
  3. Insert the crank into the main plate.
  4. Push in 2 pcs, 8mm pins to lock the crank.
  5. Insert the crank handle into the crank and push in the last hex pin in the crank to lock the crank handle.

can you share the individual files for each piece? my print was 79% done and the spool got messed up. some pieces completed but a few longer pieces need to be reprinted and I didn’t want to have to print the whole thing over

If you open the file on your computer, you can deselect the parts you don't want to print. You can also do it in the mobile app. On the same page where you select build plate, you can go under select parts to print.
