This is my own model of the building brick number 2423 “plant leaves 4x3”, the studs made for this wreath branch are compatible with other available wreath branches like the one from MagnumDanger_44252. The studs available online for those wreath branches should also fit this model.
I will be making and uploading more studs for these wreaths as we move from holiday to holiday :) There will be more uploads for Christmas, check my profile if you want to see everything already made and follow if you can't wait for more new studs!
The branch available in the print profile has the following advantages and optimalizations:
Can be printed without supports;
The studs can be locked in place with a locking pin, no matter the position on the branch and if/or another branch will be attached to that same position: Use Pin-Short for single branch hole, use Pin-Long for a position where there are two branches connected to eachother with a branch holder;
Included branch holders are minimalistic and can hardly be seen (they do need normal supports to be printed, but that was a sacrifice i was willing to make; the faces/sides touching support will not be visible when the holders are installed). Available in 45 degrees (for 8 branches) and 60 degrees (for 6 branches).
Keep in mind when preparing for printing:
The branch holders need (normal automatic) support, the rest does not;
Check your color order when printing multicolor studs, always go from light to dark (e.g. white first, than black) to minimize colors bleeding and "whisps";
The locking pins will only work on these branches, not on other branches available online. The studs can be fitted without the locking pins though, the locking pins are optional and just to keep them extra secure!
Included files are:
The branches;
Normal and thicker versions of the 45 degrees and 60 degrees holders (you'll need to install them inbetween the branches), print the thicker version if you are having issues with the retaining walls breaking off. Advice:Use the thicker versions as they have a much better fit → Print 8 branches for the 45 degrees holders and 6 branches for the 60 degrees holders; → Print 8 holders total for the 45 degrees holders, 4 of each version; → Print 6 holders total for the 60 degrees holders, 3 of each version.
A branch hanger, so you can easily hang it where you want it;
Pins to lock the studs in place (great when moving things around a lot or it's windy where it's hanging). → Use the short pins if you attach a stud to a position with a single branch; → Use the long pins if you want to attach a stud to a position wheren two branches come together (there is room included for a branch holder inbetween).
Boost Me (for free)
The fact that you're looking at a model i made is already a huge compliment! If you could spare a boost that would really make my day!
Inspired by the work of MagnumDanger_44252, MetaMarkTea_510767 and makewithjake_303609. I want to thank them for giving me a direction and a visual base to start from. All my models are made from scratch using Fusion 360.
Great color choice! And have fun searching/printing decorative studs! 😁
By the way: The orientation of the branch connectors should be in a way that the side where the supports were, are pointing to the back. Looks nicer/cleaner that way 😊
The branch holders break every time. I used 100% filling, but just every one is cracked. Also with the original printing setup. I use the original bambu PLA.
That should definitely not happen! I printed them with Bambu dark green and black and luckily no issues yet. Do they break when installing or with removing support?
The design of these attachments are absolutely chef's kiss! The way that the creator designed it to attach is so good. Thank you so much for making these available to everyone!
Made a different one last year out of PLA. Decided to make a new one this year out of PETG. I liked the idea of the branch holders and locking pins so I gave it a go. Turned out great. No move sag. I did need to glue the top branches onto the holders but the bottom branches were a tight fit. Can't wait to print more holiday themes.
It looks great! The branch connectors are there to keep the rough shape, I had to account for some play to make sure everything fits.
There is a thicker version available, which has 2mm walls instead of 1mm. That might help a bit with the rigidity, but if you really want it to be fixed I'm afraid glue is needed 🙈
Took a min to relize i had to put the connectors on the back of half of them, my fault! Wife is estacitic! Working on more added ons so keep them coming! THANK YOU!
Good point on the connectors, I'll see if I can add some instructions to make it more clear what to do with the connectors 😊 Glad to hear you two are enjoying the models, always great hear 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Cool! Really good to know it all still works together at 50% scale, nice job! 🙌🏻
