Description

This herb grinder features a simple yet functional design that efficiently break down herbs into a fine consistency that then fall down inside the bottom container to avoid any mess. The four magnets hold all the places firmly in place.
This piece party trick is that while looking perfectly normal, this grinder is equipped with a hidden compartment for discreet storage of your herbs.

The lid includes four small protrusions, and to access the hidden stash, you simply remove the filter and use the bottom part of the grinder as a key to rotate the threaded mechanism, unlocking the compartment.

Tips:

  • For the magnets orientation, consider that once closed all the polarities should point the same way and that the piece with the holes is flipped on the print bed.
  • Print with an explicitly food safe filament if possible. Petg is generally considered food safe and offers better chemical (for herbs oils) and abrasion resistance than pla. For this reasons I'd advice against using pla here.
  • Thoroughly clean after printing and wash with soap and brush.

are plastic fragments left in the herbs grinds?

Good question. I suggest cleaning the print thoroughly to remove smudges and washing it with water, brush and detergent. If possible, I would recommend using a filament that is explicitly food safe. Petg has good chemical resistance (for the oils contained in the herbs), abrasion resistance, good layer adhesion and is generally considered food safe. However, I do not have the means to exclude the possibility of micro fragments.

Yes i worry about this too, even with injection molding, but interested in testing results of this product to see if it's valid in any way. . For now I'll stick to metal.

It's pretty much guaranteed for micro plastics to end up where you don't want it. Grinders are just things that shouldn't be made out of plastics. Unpainted stainless steel is one of the safer options for that use case.

In the 'Bill of material section there's a 'buy now' button if you want to buy on bambulab store, or you can easily find them on amazon or temu searching for 6x3 magnets.

Works as intended, however, I noticed the spiked slowly dulling and getting shorter. And those pieces have to be going somewhere... I suggest doing a lot of dry grinds, as well as just grinding a random disposable herbs for a bit to avoid as much as you can mixing in with any of your herb.

Hello, could you please send me the link to the PETG filament you used? I really like that color and I can't find it.
