Gauges set for measuring hole diameters from 1.0 to 20.9 mm with 0.1 mm steps
These four templates make it possible to determine the diameter of a part or to have an example of a hole with a specific diameter.
Main features
4 jigs (4 separated pieces)
Measurable diameters: from ∅ 1.0 mm to ∅ 20.9 mm
Step diameters: 0.1 mm step
Digits in relief from the jig to be printable with a different color
NO AMS required
Usage and example of reading
There are two rows of numbers in the jig:
vertical numbers express the millimetre value of the row of holes, while
the upper numbers specify the value of the first decimal place to be added to the diameter of the row.
An image with the determination of two diameters is shown as an example. The diameter should be read by first reading the digit on the left and then adding the decimal value given at the top for the corresponding hole.
Example of reading two diameters with the jig
Details on the jigs
Jig 1: diameters from 1.0 to 5.9 mm, dimensions: ca 40 x 80 mm
Jig 2: diameters from 6.0 to 10.9 mm, dimensions: ca 70 x 130 mm
Jig 3: diameters from 11.0 to 15.9 mm, dimensions: ca 92 x 185 mm
Jig 4: diameters from 16.0 to 20.9 mm, dimensions: ca 119 x 236 mm
Depending on the printer settings, the printer used and the printing accuracy, the diameters may differ from the nominal ones.
Always check and verify with a precision instrument for critical or precise purposes.
Improper storage and preservation of the jig may degrade the accuracy of the reading due to physical and temperature changes or properties of the material used for printing.
The measurement system used in diameters is metric.
This jig is not to be considered a precision instrument nor as a tool for commercial or industrial measurements.
We accept no responsibility for incorrect measurements or errors in the diameters.
Exposures to heat or cold can degrade the template
3D printing settings
Layers: 0,2 mm
Infill: 50 % or up
Infill pattern: grid (strengthens the structure and makes it resistant to bending)
Plate: smooth
Material: PLA, ABS, etc
Supports and brims: No supports and no brims
Ironing: not strictly necessary, sometimes ironing worsens the surface condition of digits and holes.
Print raised digits
To print raised digits, it is recommended to print with a different and distinct color than the template for better visibility. To print the digits with a different color you do not need AMS, just place a print pause at the beginning of the first layer where it starts to print the digits, change the filament and resume printing. In my print profile everything is already set up.
NOTES:
I suggest using the settings included in the included print profile created by me
Print at reduced speed to achieve a better result. Depending on the print settings, lettering and holes may be less well executed.
Run a printing tests on the smallest jig before printing all others.
Pay attention to the adhesion to the printing plate of the larger jigs with surface grinding, corners may be raised during printing and affect the quality of the jig
The model shown in the pictures was printed with white PLA, Bambulab P1S printer, smooth plate - PLA plate

Great tool to have on hand. Compact size. Printed great in two colors to make the text pop. This will be invaluable as I design things that take hardware.
Hi Jonathan918! Thanks for giving my model a boost and for your feedback! It's nice to know that my model was appreciated! That makes me very happy!
Remember that for precise measurements it is best to use a more appropriate and accurate tool. With this template you basically have a tool that tells you how your printer prints holes of a certain nominal value, and you can figure out if you need to increase or decrease the diameter of one hole or element in your design in order to fit it into another.
If you are interested in templates and gauges consider downloading this template as well so you can complete your template set. The template is as follows: Set gauge thicknesses 0.1-2 mm and 1-10 mm metric, downloadable on Makerworld here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/909237#profileId-869824
So have fun with this tool and again thanks for the feedback! ❤️👍

Thank you Benny for your kind comment!
I really hope you will find this model useful.
The smaller gauge you can use it to test print with different colours to make the raised lettering stand out by stopping the print, changing filament and resuming printing the lettering! Otherwise, you can colour the raised lettering with a permanent marker, but the lettering may come out smudged due to the ink.
Have fun with the Gauge hole diameters 1.0-20.9 mm step 0.1 (metric)!
