Description

The Z-axis drag chain of A1 is used to protect cables and prevent them from running around.
I have already launched a product with an X-axis drag chain, which has a suitable bending angle and will not fall down. It is beautiful and easy to use!
The Z-axis cable has a folding hinge to prevent dragging the cable when printing the highest item. However, the most important thing is that the cable will not be excessively folded when the nozzle is at the lowest position!
The problem of X-axis drag chain sagging has been solved!!!

Hi, I don't know how to place the piece I'm showing in my hand. Could you add photos? Thanks!

The assembly was not clear to me at first either. I then loaded the parts into SketchUp and put it together (I have to change it because I'm using a wider chain). To make it easier to recognize, I have “built in” each part in a different color and only one chain link. Now everyone should understand how the parts belong together. Greetings MiReu

Could you maybe post the wider chain? @MiReu ? I want to put in a led strip cable but it sits too tight for my liking. Or maybe @Designer_Mobay you have something like that?

Thank you so much, it turned out realy nice! I realy like how it looks and fits around both cables. And also great job on preventing it from sagging. It stands firmly. One thing that I would like to suggest is to slightly offset the base of the chain from the top of the X-axis extruder. In combination with the AMS Lite top mount with enclosure the chain will rub against the enclosure when going up high. In the most top and center position the base of the chain will even push againts the enslosure, making it bend a bit backwards. Currently I am not printing a lot of high models, so this is not a problem yet, but I can see this be a problem in te future.

Excellent, this solves two pain points at once, although the Z-axis cable chain plus the LED wire is indeed a bit tight, but it's not a major issue.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by my oversight! The sagging issue was addressed the night before last, and the file has been re-uploaded. Please delete any previously downloaded files and download the new file for printing.

Unfortunately, one of the holders broke during assembly and had to be reprinted Otherwise, a superb upgrade for my A1

print came out really well. some sharp edges but used some 800geit sandpaper to smooth it out. the piece that snaps to the camera part had a top piece made for the top wire drag chain if you choose to print that. I didnt as I have another cord spring. so I had to grind the inside of that piece as it is a snug fit around the cord.

So the bottom part is very well designed, but the top part is very saggy. Like this it loses its purpose and I don't want to switch to another one. Maybe someone has a fix? I feel like if you would make the back portion a little longer it might help

you should flip the drag chain, it will put a massive arch in the chain and it won’t droop down like that

I enjoyed the profile, it took some time to figure out how to install everything but I managed. I did not print the top part because the model in the printing is not the same as in the picture. See my images for explanation. If I could have the model without the top attachment, it would be perfect (like on the full tray) because when printing it offers me something I don't want (picture of the attachment alone).
