Description

I released the AMS lite Filament Hub Helper on September 19, 2024, and it has been more popular than I expected. However, I found it to be a bit not sturdy enough, so I made a stronger version that also supports the cable at the back. I hope this is helpful to you.

It works flawlessly, printed with PETG and a 0.4 nozzle. However, I have modified it slightly so that it fits with the cable routing from here https://makerworld.com/en/models/465063#profileId-373827 or here https://makerworld.com/en/models/528995#profileId-446119 It works really well and solves the problem with the USB cable directly.

This is a great design, but for top mount units I think an alternate profile that has an angled power cable beam (instead of straight up) would work better to allow the extruded power cable to be grouped with the extruder cables and keep the power cable away from the upper beam. I am having to use a second adapter for that (as per pictures), but it puts too much pressure on the cable.

Oh, I didn't mount anything on the upper beam, so I wasn't aware there would be any interference. Thank you for sharing the photos to let me know. I will likely design an improved version and incorporate your feedback. Thank you for your suggestion.

Thanks. I sm just getting started with this hobby and I don’t know how to use CAD software well yet, but what I would try to do to your concept to see if it solved my issue is make a profile with a 45 degree slant for the cable as per enclosed photo.

What I am trying to do is to with such a slanted design is to get the power cable this nicely merge with the reel cables to I can attach it to a clip and hopefully get it to always stay in the front of the rail and not go to the back of it when it moves. Not sure if I would get it to work but that is what I want to try.

Good print, precise fit and rock solid. The hub doesn't move at all and it even fixed a problem I had with one of the tubes slipping out of a damaged port. 10/10

I was having the extruder loading errors with my AMS lite. I'm a complete newbie and my love of my new 3d Printer was slowly turning to hate. LOL .. But, this print has saved the day and brought the love back. Who knew something so small could make such a difference. No more stuck filament, can't load errors. Thanks for this.
