Description

I mixed together an AMS Lite Vertical Mount, Humidity Sensor holder screw for the front and a new customized latch based on the Bambu Labs top mount that allows for another screw to hold it in the rear for extra stability.

The only screws used in this are two from the bag labeled “For Top Mount Latch” from Bambu Labs AMS Lite Top Mount Screws Kit, all other parts are printed. There is also a hole on the vertical mount that you use to lock in the AMS using a screw already in the AMS.

You should probably pair this with A1 Anti Vibration Feet Risers or the Bambu Labs Top Mount stabilizer legs to keep better balance when printing. In most cases it doesn't seem to be necessary but does help with the center of gravity.

Sadly I lost a print halfway through for whatever reason, so I changed to some wood filament and I don't love the color, but I'll paint it. It looks like cardboard! lol. I just had a bunch of it. Works great but it definitely makes it very top heavy. I strapped it to a pole I have screwed to my wall. Works great though. But use decent filament. The stuff I used is pretty bad. lol. Still got the job done though!

Just printed this. Works great. One thing that initially confused me is that the AMS unit needs to be flipped upside down (so the numbers are upside down) to make this work. I have it in place, with the single spool holder next to it, and no support feet. For the hinge, I just used some extra lengths of filament.

Nice work. It looks like your setup would allow the original single roll holder to fit on the same bar. Could you check this? did you have to use longer ptfe tubes?

Same length PTFE tubes that you get in the first place with the A1 and yes the external roll fits on there at the same time no issue.

With four filament spools loaded, the weight in the rear was excessive, causing the front of my A1 to lift a few millimeters. This could certainly have been resolved with additional supports, but I didn't try that.

So you still gave it two stars? Although, I listed in the description that you shpuld use anit-vibration feet or stabilizer legs? You were warned before printing.

Yes, because I couldn't use it. It was lifting up the front of my printer. The description says printing the additional stuff will not be needed in most cases. But in my case it's necessary. So it's a two ⭐ for me. I would love to see a version 2 with the center of gravity shifted to the front. It' a good idea, but it needs to be improved. At least before I can use it.

I understand. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. If you don't want all that filament to be wasted the stabilizers will for sure fix the issue but that's up to you 👍🏻
