Got it figured out how to use if there's no wood bed frame. An 1/2" thick peice of wood cut 2"×10" tucked between the boxspring and the metal frame then slip the brackets and box onto it. Problem solved! Otherwise I was trying to make your brackets into L brackets or not print the brackets and go get long straps from the local hobby/craft/fabric store and buckle it.

I have slightly modified the height to make it deeper. The hooks are a bit narrow for the base of my bed (I forgot to measure them before) but they still fit halfway and do their job

it would be nice if you had a 45° hook also.. something that lays on the box spring top to utilize the mattress weight to keep it in place.
