Hi everyone! I have made this Halloween themed prize wheel to add some spice to the famous Trick or Treat. Let the wheel decide for you, and let kids enjoy the spinning moment before they know if they are receiving candies or a terrifying trick!
As you can see there are 4 types of prizes. I thought it could be nice to give them a specific value: if the wheel stops on the candy, you give them one candy. If it stops on the lollypop, double ratio of candies. If it stops on the grave it's going to be tricks, and if it lands on the pumpkin you decide what is going to be the “special prize”, from giving them a loooot of canides, to let your friend dressed as a gorilla start running towards them and scare them for life.
This model requires a 8x22x7 mm bearing, you can buy it on Amazon or you can find it in the Maker's Supply Shop.
I have tried this wheel a lot and had no troubles, it is pretty solid and it works well.
Please tell me if you find some missing informations in the instruction or if you have some troubles printing or mounting the wheel, I'll be glad to help you find the problem and solve it.
I put the instructions below, but you can also download the “print and mounting guide” pdf.
Happy printing! :)

PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE PRINTING
There are 6 print plates in the profile, for each one there are some instructions.
PRINT PLATE N° 1: THE WHEEL
I've printed the wheel using the 0.2 standard nozzle and the grid infill, it saves you a lot of time and there are no cons in doing that. I've colored the wheel as you can see in the pictures, but if you don't like it or if the profile opens with just one color, the best advice I can give you is to use the “heigth range” color mode. It is strongly recommended to activate supports, then remove them with claws. If you don't activate them, the center hole is not going to be perfect and the bearing could not fit properly.
PRINT PLATE N° 2: THE BASE
For the base, the recommendations are the same as the wheel: 0.2 standard nozzle to save time and for the coloring part you can use the same instructions.
PRINT PLATE N° 3: THE SKELETON SUPPORT
Same nozzle used as before, but this time I strongly recommend using the gyroid infill to make it more rigid and stable.
PRINT PLATE N°4: THE PIN
This is an important structural piece, so be sure to use the 0.2 Strenght nozzle. As you will see, there are four pins. Maybe the bearing you get is not going to have the same inner diameter as the seller said (for example, mine said inner diameter 8mm and it was 8,2mm), so, starting from left, there are four measures of pins: 8mm, 8.1mm, 8.2mm, 8.3mm. After measuring your bearing you can easily delete the three pins that you don't need and print the one that is best for you. Tell me if you need other measures to be added.
PRINT PLATE N°5: CANDIES AND PICK
At first, the best pick to make the wheel spin a lot and not get stuck is 0.2mm thick, so use the 0.2mm nozzle, print one layer and you are ready to go. I put three picks so if one brakes you don't have to do the print again. For the candies, if like me you don't have more than one AMS, you can simply drag them to another plate, select the print mode “by object” instead of “by layer” and give them separate colors. If you do this, make sure to put them at a right distance between each other to successfully print them (the app will tell you if they are not distanced enough so don't worry). I put them in one plate for simplicity, but it took me two different prints to make them all.
PRINT PLATE N°6: MULTICOLOR PRINTS
It is not necessary to make these things multicolor, but for me they look better this way. The trick or treat writing uses the same color recommendations for the wheel and the base, so color it with “height range” mode to make sure that the base and the writing are separated. For the arrow and the grave, the items are already colored, so just choose the colors you like and print them to have the best effect.
Please tell me if you have some issues during any of these steps, I'll be there to help you and to make sure that everyone can have some nice times printing the wheel.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
Please follow the instruction to make sure that noting brakes during the mounting of the wheel.
At first, I recommend printing all items and then proceeding to mount them.
Insert the bearing into the wheel.
Mount the items (candies etc.) on the wheel. Make sure to follow the exact pattern I made, the wheel has to be balanced and this way you are sure that all prizes have the same chance to be selected. You can change the pattern but make sure that each item is opposite to its same kind of item.
Mount the skeleton support.
Put the pin in the skeleton support.
Mount the wheel on the support.
Mount the pick.
Mount the arrow.
Mount the “Trick or Treat” writing. This is the only part that needs some glue.
