Hello everybody!
One of the things that bug me about the stock Deadbolt SCX24 is that it has no rear bumper! What a bummer… If you, like me, have thought the same, you're in the right spot! This rear bumper with hooks should get you fixed in no time! It replaces the little stock hinge that attaches the back of the lexan body to the chassis and uses all the stock screws. If you want to put the hooks on it, you need two short M1.4 screws that I'm sure everyone has in their little SCX24 toolbox. *THE RED HOOKS YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES ARE A DIFFERENT PROFILE! YOU'LL NEED TO DOWNLOAD THEM AND PRINT THEM SEPARATELY! I ALSO STRONGLY RECOMMEND PRINTING THEM WITH A 0.2 NOZZLE IF YOU CAN, AS THEY ARE REALLY TINY!*
I haven't tested this in heavy crawling conditions, but know that this was not created with performance in mind. I was looking more for scale realism, but also tried to shape it so that it wouldn't cause a lot of binding on rocks.
It's very lightweight (it uses 7.4 grams of filament in total, of which only 4.5 grams are for the model itself: the rest is for the supports).
PLEASE NOTE
This was modeled on the original (stock) Deadbolt chassis/body, so I'm pretty sure it will only work with that. I'm not sure if it will work on other models of SCX24s, but I highly doubt that!
PRINTING TIPS
PRINT UPSIDE DOWN WITH SUPPORTS HOLDING THE BUMPER UP! The 3mf file should be already set up the way it's supposed to be printed, but just in case it gets screwed up, bear in mind to print it the opposite of how you'd mount it on the car…
HOW TO MOUNT THEM?
Very easy, just replace the stock rear body mount, bolt the body on this mount using the original screws and then bolt it on the chassis! You will need two extra screws (short m1.4) to fix the hooks into place, in case you want to print them, too.
BONUS BROWNIE POINTS to whoever recognizes the driver in my Deadbolt!
