Description

Updated to now include 100 card, 60 card, and 40 card deck versions!

This an (over-engineered) box for a Sleeved Magic the Gathering deck designed to be completely print-in-place. It features a unique hinge mechanism that obeys good design practices for 3D printing and does not need support.

It has an overlapping latch to lock closed.

4 Versions!

  • Hex-pattern top and bottom (0.2mm tolerance gap between hinge components)
  • Hex-pattern top and bottom (0.3mm tolerance gap between hinge components)
  • Non-pattern (flat) top and bottom (0.2mm tolerance gap between hinge components)
  • Non-pattern (flat) top and bottom (0.3mm tolerance gap between hinge components)

As printed, the open box footprint measures 220mm x 99mm - so it is not compatible with the A1 Mini.

40 Card Deck Version
printed loveley but its a little snug for my sleeved cards, 2/3% bigger would probably let the cards fit more easily

I’m happy to create 40/60 card versions of this! If you can provide the thickness of these versions I will update the design. I think most feedback has been that the 0.3mm version works for most people. I’ve found success with the tighter version if I slow the print down and print “outer walls first” to minimize the inner layers pushing the outer walls together in the hinge.

A quick measurement gives me 34mm and 23mm thickness for sleeved decks of 60 and 40 cards, respectively. Might add a few mm to be safe, so call it 36mm and 25mm?

Thank you for feedback and measurements. I have updated the design and the listing now includes 40-card and 60-card versions of the box!

Does it fit 100 Double Sleeved Cards?

The design is fit to a deck that's 92mm tall x 67mm wide with a thickness of 63mm. Unfortunately I don't have this deck / sleeve to verify fit, as this was done at the request of another user. If you have specific size requests, I'm happy to modify the design to fit your needs!

considering a lot of card sleeves are 68mm wide, that makes me pause to actually print this

Id love a version for 20 unsleeved cards (for the MTG Jumpstart packs where it'd display the front card pretty well!)

100 Card Deck Version
had to adjust size and delete the wall that prevents the latch from flexing. Prints pretty slow because of thick wall widths

Printed in Transucent PETG with 15% and 100% infill. Both have a frosted look. They're great, probably going to print a dozen more in different filaments

This looks great! Any chance you could create versions of this that hold 40 and 60 card decks? Also, do you recommend printing with 0.2mm or 0.3mm clearance if I'm using an A1?
