Nice boxes. it prints really well, professional looking. but I had to sand the rear lip of the top and bottom a bit to fully close. The tolerance of the bottom latch that snapes into the bottom box is a bit to tight. I had to sand that too because it kept breaking the tab on the box.
Hi Joe, It would be interesting to know what printer & filament you used, I have made the FUSION 3D model available if you need to tweak any sizes. Would be interested in seeing some pics of you pointing to the problem area. Regards Dean
ok, I'll try to get some pics to this week. This is one of the 1st comments I've made on here. I'm new to all this. Still trying to figure out how all this works. The critique I've given you is just minor details. The boxes are really cool. Maybe it's my machine that needs fine tuning, I don't know but I'll get back to you.
The latch is an "over the center" latch, very popular you will find them everywhere, this is a 2 piece latch that is printed separately & snaps together. I've had a larger version of one of these on my battery drill for decades & it seems to be unstoppable, it just works.
looks great currently printing one with a gridfinity bottom. wish it was resizable to fit specific dimensions easily. look forward to assembling tonight.
Plate 2 printed phenomenally, had no issues. plate 3 with the 2 latch spots, each time I tried to attach the latch the connector on the box broke. printed it again with a different filament to see if that was it and the same thing.
