Description

These are tool caps for my flashlight tool cap system. You will need a flashlight adapter to go with these from my set of adapters that can be found here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/603940#profileId-526565

These tool caps are meant to be used as a sort of light pen to draw lines and images by hand in a lightpainting image. They are easy to use and come in a few sizes. There is enough room to put a color filter inside the cap if other colors are needed.

The tool cap has a modular design for easy assembly. You will need a pin out of a material/color that lets light through. I used a natural white PLA for this that had no extra color pigments added so light can pass through it easily and the pin tips glow quite bright. The cap itself and the lid should be printed with a material that blocks light completely. I used black PETG for this. Please keep in mind that the caps will be very close to the flashlight head and block some of the light so a material that can take some head should be used.

The provided print profile has one of each pin on one plate and the cap components on the other. You will need one cap, one pin and one lid that fits the pin for each complete cap assembly. The pin is put into the hole of the cap and then glued into the cap with e.g. superglue.

The only part that will need some support is the cap. You can use classic or tree, the supported surface will be covered by the pin and lid so no smooth and nice surface is needed here.
