Description

To celebrate Batman Day in september.. i'll be making a series of Batman models and this week is the Batwing desk lamp..

I used the tim burton's batman movie as the themed for the desk lamp model.. Last week i made the suspended batwing.. so i just did a slight redesign and made it into a desk lamp.. I am currently using the Bambu Lab LED kit 001 as the light source for the desk lamp..

The lamp arm i'm currently using can be found on aliexpress.. here's my affiliate link.. and if you cant open the link that means it doesnt ship to your country.. so you'll have to image search the lamp arm..
You'll also need a aluminium rod to hold the batwing to the lamp arm..

Aluminium rod 6mm diameter with 13cm length..

My local hobby store sells them for Gunpla dioramas

You can use the image to google search the lamp..

if you want to change the color of the wiring to black to match the Batman themed
So first thing you need to do is unsolder the wires from the LED puck..

Disassemble the lamp arm and take out the wiring..

Then insert the LED puck wiring into the channel of the lamp arm

Now combine the 2 half of the batwing using the peg.. you can use small cut of filament into the wings as guide as you glue the 2 half together..

Once it glued.. insert the led puck into the batwing and make sure the opening of the puck aligns to the hole in the batwing..

Now glue the 6mm diameter aluminium rod to the batwing and connect it to the lamp arm..

This will make the soldering easier as the batwing can stand on its own with the lamp arm..

Run the wire though and solder the wires back to the LED puck and close the LED puck..
Test the LED puck to make sure its working..

For the base its fairly easy to install..

There are 2 pegs to align the batman logo to the base.. and you just need to glue everything up together before capping it to the lamp arm base..

You can also glue the logo base to the arm base..

Only the batwing needs to be printed in multicolor.. the logo base is printed seperately since the orientation is the opposite of each other..

If you dont want to do soldering.. you can cut the the wires at the button switch.. channel it from the top of the arm to the bottom and use a terminal block to connect both wires back together..

I hope you'll have fun 3d printing the Batwing desk lamp..

The print was excellent, unfortunately the cover does not fit the Ikea lamp, unlike its predecessors.
