Think this model’s cool? Boost it—because even 3D models need a little ego boost now and then! 😄

A minimal version of the build plates' holder for IKEA Skadis boards. I have two profiles; one version is 9 cm high, suitable for the standard plates and one about 5cm, which is perfect for the smaller plates for the A1mini.

Mounted using Low Profile T-Clips by tchoupshop to fit flush. The clips come in two versions - one for black/white Skadis boards, and one for unpainted ones. Make sure to print the right ones for your board (I included a print profile with each version, but I encourage you to download them directly from the creator).

I made a T Clip tool to make turning the clips easier, especially the flushed version.

Printed well, however, the hanger part came off as soon as I was going to mount it. Looking back in the slicer it appears as if there is a gap between the hanger and the holder segments. I hope that this is fixed, this looks like a good hanger design for build plates otherwise!

Hi! Thank you for your feedback. This is strange as I printed a few of these so far with no issues. I also just went back and checked both profiles and there were no missing layers. Did you change anything in the profile? Switch to 0.22 or 0.24?

I did make a cut and lowered the model into the build plate so that it would only hold 3 plates as I didn't need to hold as many as the original provided and to save filament. Raising the model back to its initial height makes it so that the gap no longer exists in the G-code preview. It seems lowering the model whatsoever made it so that the gap in the model geometry is seen by the slicer and gets printed as such. Slicing at .24 and .28 layer heights also make the issue appear regardless if the model is lowered into the build plate. Suppose ill have to print it without lowering it into the plate?

I can not predict exactly what went wrong. But regardless, I would advice you against changing the layer height as I’ve had such issues before when I switched to 0.24 to save on time and filament. If you wait a bit, I will post another with 3 and 4 plates slots :)

Great model. It is however a bit too large for A1 mini plates, so you have to place them correctly, otherwise the will fall off

Fair few options out there for plate holders. This one I liked, printed in pla Satin, but ran out during the print. Had anther satin filament that was close to what I was printing, this the two tone effect.

Good print quality, stable, but the distance is a bit too large for the A1 Mini plates. Holds the plates nonetheless and is 100x better than storing them on the desk.
