Description

After fidgeting with the original OTF knife for a long time, my hand got quite sore by the sharp edges. I found an ergonomic handle that I tried out, but it didn't solve the problem fully. Because of this, I decided to improve upon both designs, and make a version that is as comfortable as possible. This is the result of that.

I have changed so that the back part of the knife is rounded, that rests against the palm of the hand. I have also changed the thumb-slider to not have sharp edges. The ergonomic finger-grooves also helps making it more comfortable.

Same happened with me, resliced it via babmbu studio and hopefully it will be ok. The profile was probably one of P1S's.

I have printed several, works perfectly every time. Also, you should probably not use a P1S profile if you don't have a P1S printer, at least not without doublechecking everything

You have to slow your printer speed down to 50

The print profile worked fine. The external grip shape on the model is great and very comfortable. However, the inside geometry of the model is slightly different compared to the original handle and performs worse for me than the original. The nubs that are supposed to catch the blade just don't work as well and cause the blade to slip more often. The upper nub (lower left in image) is also a little farther up the handle, which makes it harder for the knife hook to catch.

Good print and a fidget with comfy action.

Turned out perfectly on my X1C. Used PETG for handle and spring, and a silver pla silk for the blade. Managed to get it back from the family for the pic, but they really like playing with it already!

Turned out well, for me. I printed it at 110% scale, for my larger hands. (Had some minor adhesion issues that were my own fault.) I made the original several times. I always felt like the blade needed more heft so I gave it a 50% infill. The handle/spring is jet black Eryone PLA & the blade is translucent teal Bambu PETG.

I don't know about useful, depends on what you want to use it for, but https://makerworld.com/en/models/500210#profileId-415132 is a sharper version.
