Description

This is a quick calibration model I made to calibrate the Horizontal Hole parameter in Cura (also works with Bambu Studio).

 

My Artillery Genius tended to print holes too small and thus, the multi-part prints didn't fit together as they should have.

 

To fix that issue, the magical parameter to calibrate is the Horizontal Hole in Cura (the equivalent of X-Y compensation in Bambu Studio).

 

First, print out the model with your standard settings and measure the insides of the circles with a caliper. The inner dimensions should be 25mm, 20mm, 15mm, and 10mm.

 

Then, write down the differences and calculate their average. In my case, I got an average diameter difference of 0.48mm.

 

Finally, divide that value by two to get the radius difference (so in my case it's 0.24mm) and write that value in the Horizontal Hole parameter in Cura (X-Y compensation in Bambu Studio).

 

Print out the test model again and check the inner dimensions. If everything turns out fine, you should be able to fit the different circles inside each other to make one single square :)

I was trying my own designs but the screw holes and contours were coming out several mm smaller than I measured in program. This model and tutorial video helped me to calibrate the inner circle and outside contour compensation. As proof here is the successful test model I used to insert a 2.5mm hex nut and screw.

was so glad I found this little gem. Was having issues getting holes the right size for brass press-in nuts and this got my dialled right in!!! Thx

This worked so well. Fit perfectly after 1 test. Finally after a 2 years of getting frustrated with parts not fitting finally something that works comes along. Thankyou
