Thank you!! I love this stand and your videography work is amazing as always. PS. I spent way too much time on this and made a remix with a 3mf file that is now adjustable just by changing the parameters. Just some adjustments in the sketches. If anyone out there wants to change it quickly in Fusion 360 without it throwing up a bunch of errors :) https://makerworld.com/en/models/617129

This is pretty great, I bet with this you could measure you phone case and make it work even with a case on.

I don't know much about Fusion360, but if you can make this as an Open Scad file with Customize option for different iphone sizes, then it would be a popular design here in makerworld. Just a thought.

Is there a simple way to edit the fusion file to reproduce this for other iphone models?

The AirPod 2 isn’t able to charge with the Apple Watch charger is it?

If you have the wireless changing case for them then yes, it'll stick right to a magsafe charger and charge. The bigger one just let's you put an apple watch charger in the back so you can set your headphones on top of it to charge them at the same time. I saw somewhere that people made a modified one where the apple watch charger was exposed so you could use it for airpods or the watch itself.

design is really great, but even more than that, being introduced to dieter rams is invaluable, from someone that has no design education and just models just by experimenting, I feel highly inspired watching the work of this amazing industrial designer, thanks a lot for that :) edit/ unfortunately too much tolerances for me though - now that I’m adding the MagSafe (original)

I'm bambooled, what kind of settings do you have or icon set on your iPhone that it looks so good ?

I jus made one for iPhone 13 Pro.. fits perfect. fusion is easy to modify, but the trick is to get all the dimensions to fit according to the YOUR specific material shrinkage. I had to enlarge it at least .030 and it seems like width doesn’t account for the buttons.

could you let me know how to adjust it for iPhone 13 Pro? Or could you upload the file please? thanks :)

Hey, Would be cool, if you shared the file, I personally rock a 13 Pro, and would be more than happy to print it for myself ^^ Thanks!

love it, love to see a pro max size : )

you could get the proportions of the max divided by the regular regular to scale the print

I printed it with classic supports because organic (tree) supports are not supported in conjunction with variable layer height. I ran out of (PLA-CF) filament just before the end. I threw in PLA copper color filament and am pleased with the result. Gives me Atari 2600 vibes! I normally print with ABS but didn't dare to use it because of the overhangs.

I like the look of this print. I can see that the outer walls are textured. How did you create that effect? Is it a fuzzy skin effect?

what a waste of PLA CF 🥹 But look ok.

@takeo How is it a waste? A permanent item sitting out in public view seems like the textbook example of when to use a nice filament. What do you consider a correct usage of it?

I made a remix that supports parameters which can be modified for iphone cases. Try it out and let me know if it works for you: https://makerworld.com/en/models/616623#profileId-540193

Would it be possible to export your design in .step format, so I could import it into Onshape?

the designer uploaded a Fusion 360 CAD file, so you can modify it. You might need to convert the F3D file into some other CAD format.

make it smaller to 90.38% if you guys want it to fit iphone 12 and 13 mini, I had a simple try and it worked. I printed it with my friend’s PC and 3D printer, however his solid work is too old to edit the file, so I directly make it smaller to 90.38% ( I measured and calculated the size ) , the phone sink on the dock is perfect, but you will need to handy enlarge the magsafe room a little bit. also you might come across an issue of thickness of walls. maybe slight adjustment can fix it. anyway it is just a very simple way to have a dock for iphone mini. have a good day guys.
