For all Reel-to-Reel Decks and vintage-audio fans! For all who love simple aesthetic 3D coasters. For everyone who finds something hypnotizing in looking at tape reels. For those who like 70s design with a modern twist.
Four reel to reel spools coasters with a stand.
Representing four classic 26.5cm aluminium spools design – Revox/Basf, Scotch, Ampex and TDK. My personal favourite four!
What’s on the stand? Tape path of Revox B77, another legend :)
How to print this model.
There are two versions of the coasters.
One piece coasters – for single color print, filament change or AMS coloring. It has to be printed reel up. In my print profile I added pause for manual filament change at layer 18 of all coasters. If you are using AMS please replace pause with filament change, then reslice the model. You may use color paint but simple filament change is better and generating less waste.
Two piece coasters – for all who want that nice textured look on both top layers (base and reel). Put separate parts - reel and base face down on your textured plate. Base have holes and reel pegs to connect both pieces together. I recommend to glue them together, but if your printer have 0.1mm clearance as my A1 Mini, parts should stay together nicely even without glue. Use „Reel-to-Reel Spools Coasters with pegs” print profile if you decide to print that version.
Use 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. PETG for hot drinks, otherwise PLA will be fine.
Stand. It has three parts. Main body and two „tape path” faces. I really couldn’t decide how I should place it on the plate. No matter what position, it will require some supports due to roudings at the bottom (placed bottom down) or coaster pockets (if you place it sideways). So supports ladies and gents for main body, sorry for that.
Pegs. I added pegs on „tape path” plate. They are small objects so clean your plate before print for better adhesion. If you know you have adhesion problems please move pegs to additional plate and add brim option from the menu.
If you like the model and you want to give it thumbs up, please also consider downloading it. It cost you just one additional click and it’s very important to me. Also check my other models, maybe you will find something interesting :) Thank you!
That’s all for today :)
Happy printing!
