I appreciate your Boosts! They help me continue to make more fun designs.

This is a puzzle box with a twist. The puzzle must be solved to unlock the box. There are four hidden sliding parts on the lid that will unlock the bow so it can be rotated. But nothing happens unless the bow is rotated when the box is upside down! There is a gravity switch inside the locking mechanism that prevents the box from being opened when it is right side up. See it in action in this video.

The gravity switch greatly increases the difficulty level of the puzzle. If you use this to give a gift to a friend, be prepared to offer them a few clues. Some people can struggle for hours before they find the solution on their own. If you know the solution, you can open the box in just a few seconds.

Thanks for this nice little box. My wife had to give up on unpacking it. Our eldest son got lucky after a while and managed to open it. My daughter helped during the assembly and was a little disappointed that he figured it out just before the timer ran out. After closing and opening it a few times it got a lot harder to close the box again. The T-shaped pice is now a little loose. Due to this it is very tricky to close the box. Maybe the connection could be improved. Opening is unchanged. Thx

Gravity Gift Box with Reinforced Lock

Very nice print. Printed perfectly. I found that there is enough “slop” in the latching mechanism that it is actually possible to open it upright. I think the weight is a bit too light and can be bounced over the rails. Otherwise it is a very nice looking and moderately easy puzzle box. Thank you for sharing this design!

had a lot of fun with this print. although the strength of the “pins” on the t-handle latch could be improved. i printed 6 of the keys in PLA and they all snapped the pin. I switched to print just the t-handle in PETG with slightly better luck 2/6 printed and held together.

Thanks for the feedback. I had one failure when I used a Bambu PLA matte filament, but other Bambu and Matchbox PLA filaments worked. I will see what I can do to improve that.
