-After seeing a cool rose looking windmill at the store, I decided to take a crack at designing my own.
-I recommend printing with the profiles I have provided as I have fine tuned most of the settings for PLA
You will need: -Bamboo Skewer(s), which can be found here: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-12-Pack-32-Bamboo-Skewers/49759388-Super Glue-Flush Cutters-All Printed Parts (Rose WM, Middle Cap/Stem, Shim, Bottom Cap) | ![]() |
Slide the Stem/Bottom Cap to the desired length on the skewer. | ![]() |
Super glue the stem to the skewer and twist to ensure all sides of the interior are covered. | ![]() |
Fold all tabs of the petals so that their holes slide onto the shaft of the first.
Be sure to keep them from slipping off! | ![]() |
While gripping from the opposite side of the lowest petal-- slide the shim along the bottom petal to meet its designated slot.
It will give a satisfying *click* when done correctly. | ![]() |
Slide the skewer through one of the side openings and push the middle cap through.
Push it all back to the top to put the flower through the top hole.
Once again, slide everything back all of the way down to the stem. | ![]() |
Reaching through the side, super glue the middle cap close to the bottom of the flower but NOT touching.
After using the glue you can slightly push up on the base of the flower to slide the middle cap slightly upwards. This will give the flower more freedom to spin. | ![]() |
Cut off the excess skewer…
You're done!
(After the glue is done drying of course) | ![]() |
