I printed with a 0.2 mm nozzle and a layer thickness of 0.06 mm. The printing took four days. But the result was worth it. The model looks great.

Wow.. Nice work.. Are the strings strong enough to hold the ship? I thought it might be too thin

The threads are holding up well. But I think if you don't want to lose the plastic, you shouldn't risk it. But the model is really incredible, and looks cool and is made well.

Thank you for this fantastic model! I printed it in silver, onyx black, sparkling grey, and sparkling red. I learned something again: when printing in multiple colors, use filaments from only one manufacturer to ensure consistent temperatures. The cooling and heating with each filament change significantly increases the printing time. I enabled "purge in infill" and set the purge volume to 92 for all colors, and I see no drawbacks in the visual quality.

Howdy! I LOVE your models. So far I've printed three of the Star Wars suspended models and they've worked flawlessly. Unfortunately I've had an issue with both halves of Rocinante. As soon as I stood the models up off the build plate the upper support threads separated and the suspended model fell. This could absolutely be a problem with the filament I used for those threads but I wanted to check to see if there was difference in how far they were 'embedded' in the supporting frame from previous models. Any thoughts?

i usually embed the thread deep into the frames.. thats why i make like thick frames.. i'm also paranoid that the thread wont have enough support from the frame and break.. there might be a few string that could possibly snap but not the whole ship.. do share a pic so maybe i can see what the problem comes from

Unfortunately I've already scrapped the two failed prints so can't provide pictures. I did go back and look at the sliced model for the Rocinante and the Tie Interceptor (love btw). I printed the Interceptor many months ago and it's still holding up just fine. One difference I note is that the suspension threads, for the Interceptor, span both perimeters of the frame where for the Rocinante the threads stop in the middle of the frame. Would it be possible to extend them for this model?

I don't think i can do that.. To do what you're asking I have to redo the whole thing.. Sorry..

would you consider uploading a model of just the ship itself, not suspended?
