Description

🎉 Celebrate 300 Followers with Iconic Watches! 🎉

Introducing Iconic Watches—a stunning collection of 3D-printed watch models that pays tribute to the world's most renowned timepieces. Whether you're a fan of the Grand Seiko, Rolex Submariner, or Tudor, these models are crafted with precision and attention to detail, making them a perfect addition to any collection or a unique project to kick off the school year!

🔄 Interactive Design: Each watch features a date window, and the crown is functional—turn it to change the displayed date! Experience the intricacies of these iconic watches like never before.

🛠️ Modular & Customizable: Mix and match components to create your perfect watch. Want a Tudor with a Rolex-style bezel? No problem! The modular design allows endless customization. Plus, the .STEP files make it easy to modify and personalize your models.

🔗 Versatile Stands: Display your creations with pride! Choose from two stand options:

A modular bracelet link stand that you assemble with pins for a realistic look.
A one-piece printed stand for those who prefer simplicity—minimal gluing required.

🔨 Easy Display: Each model includes a hole in the back, perfect for hanging your watch on a nail, transforming it into a stunning wall display.

⚙️ Flexible Clock Module Fitting: The hands are designed to fit the official Bambulabs kit, but if they don't fit your clock module, no worries! There's a negative space in the profiles—simply scale it to the needed dimensions, and you're good to go.

🎓 Perfect for School Projects: Whether you’re studying design, engineering, or just love watches, these models make an ideal back-to-school project, blending creativity with hands-on learning.

Thank you for helping me reach 300 followers on MakerWorld! Let’s make something iconic together. ⌚

Let me know if there is another must have watch I should make!

Print profiles

To print a watch, you need to print from multiple print profiles!

Every watch uses the same:

  • Case
  • Stand

Then there is a printprofile for each of the different watches, this is where the dial, hands, crown and watch specifik extra parts are.

The watches

All the watches share the same datewheel (for now), insert the crown and then press on the stopper.

After this, just place the datewheel in its slot and add your dial (face).  Insert the clock kit (with the rubber attached on the clocks axel) and screw on the nut.

Follow the assembly guide if you want to add the stand.

Rolex Submariner Date

To build this watch have a look at the “Assembly Guide”.

I printed with Bambulab Gold Silk PLA, Bambulab PLA Basic Black, Bambulab Matte PLA Red, and a generic white PLA.

There is a variant uploaded without the date window (but no print profile for that dial).

Omega Semaster Aqua Terra 007

Warning, you need a clean plate! I think 0.2mm nozzle is a must have.

The indicators need to be glued on. The second hand should be able to press on a “dissasembeld” normal second hand, but I had som problems so I just glued it on the head from the broken second hand :)

Grand Seiko

For this watch you will need to press on the indicators. I did not have to use glue, your milage may wary. Other than that, its straight forward.

I printed with Generic Silver Silk PLA, Bambulab PLA Basic Black, and a generic white PLA.

Tudor

This watch is the simplest of them all, no extra parts. Only the dial, hands and crown are uniqe.

I printed with Bambulab Gold Silk PLA, Bambulab PLA Basic Black, and a generic white PLA.

Nozzle size

I strongly reccomend a 0.2mm nozzle for the dial (face)!

It is possible to use 0.4mm, but it won't look as good:

Modifying the hands hole size

To change the hands hole, just set the negative space to the desired dimensions like this:

The size is perfect for bambulabs offical kit, but for the ones I got from amazon I needed to use these values:

  • Hour hand hole = 5.57
  • Minute hand hole = 3.74

The Stands

There are two versions of the stand, the modular and the fixed.

The modular stand

Build your own! Perfect if you want a small part on the top of the watch.

The fixed stand

A more stable and no assembly choice. Now there are a file for a longer stand “Fixed Stand Long - BraceletStand.step”, use this one if you want it really stable or plan to have a bracelet on the top part (makes the normal stand a bit unstable with the extra weigth).

Minor changes

2024-08-23

Reupploaded the GS crown, the text was not aligned.

2024-08-25

2024-09-21

Added a longer version of the fixed stand “Fixed Stand Long - BraceletStand.step”.

2024-11-02

Addded the longer stand to the printprofile

Yes but there is a balance issue, with the top bracelet the watch easily fall back. Is possible to have a longer stand? I mean with an additional line of horizontal links? Thanks

The Seamaster face came out amazing with a .2mm nozzle. Still waiting on the case to print (also printing with the .2mm nozzle). Thank you for this model! Have you thought about making the GMT II "Pepsi" Rolex with the red and blue dial? I think that is a very popular and iconic model for Rolex. https://www.rolex.com/en-us/watches/gmt-master-ii/m126710blro-0001

smooth plate did all the hard work. was tricky getting some things off. second hand nearly broke me. To get it to work on my clock works, I used the middle of a cheap eBay set of hands and cut it down to size and glued it to the printed one. Thanks again for the great model.

Amazing how detailed this came out. I specifically bought a 02mm nozzle and glow filament for this. Be good if you can design a TAG :)

what filament (brand, color) did you use for the silver and the blue?

Replying to @Apuchu :
Ziro PLA Silk silver Eryone Matte PLA Navy Blue The silk is not the greatest to print with and quite fragile. I now have a Bambu Basic Silver which prints much nicer
