Description

*I SUGGEST PRINTING IN ABS OG PETG DUE TO ALOT OF WEAR AND A HARD CLIMATE FOR PLA*
*I ALSO SUGGEST PRINTING IN BLACK AS WHITE OR ANY OTHER LIGHT COLOR IS MORE PRONE TO LETTING ALOT OF LIGHT THROUGH*

NOTE: This requires a 1,5x1,5cm Piece of two sided tape for it to be secured properly, It can be secured without it aswell since its made with a small tolerance in mind, but i highly recommend using a small piece of 3M double sided tape for it which can be bought here:
https://eu.store.bambulab.com/en-no/products/square-double-sided-foam-tape

The reversing camera on the VW ID.4 AND SKODA ENYAQ is located directly above the license plate, and since it is a fisheye camera, the field of view is wide enough to include the light of the license plate in the image.

During the day this is not a problem, but during the night or dark environments the license plate will be very bright due to the lights reflecting off it, which in turn will cause the camera to lower the brightness to avoid losing the details in those areas. However, this will also cause the rest of the image to become significantly darker, which is not desirable.

This cover will help this problem by blocking the camera view of the license plate, resulting in a much brighter image in dark and dark environments (the photos show this quite well).

  • Installation:
  1. Take a clean cloth and some water
  2. Wash around the entire camera to remove salt, dust, etc. Do not attach it on a day with high humidity, fog/rain.
  3. Be sure to push it all the way up towards the front (with the lens) before pressing it up to secure it in place.
  4. It is recommended to test fit the cover without removing the tape first, to check that it fits properly.

A little weak on PLA, but quite alright

Yeah one of the downsides of using PLA is that it doesn’t really handle UV light as good as ABS, but again much easier to print
