@JAM3D which way do you glue in the tpu pads? smooth surface towards rifle or smooth? i dont want it to slip but also wondering if it will indent the wood stock if i put honeycomb facing rifle. there is only one picture from a user that shows how they did it.. thank you in advance.

well i designed it so the honeycomb is gripping the rifle i’m not sure TPU will dent in the rifle as mine is not wood. try the smooth side without glue if it grips then who cares 😅

May seem like a dumb question, but i just printed out the tpu pads. I am a bit worried with how well it will grip on a wood stock without over tightening and possible impressions left on the stock since i got the rifle from my grandfather. Seeing as you have it clamped on a wood stock, did you put the honeycomb side or the smooth side toward the rifle when assembling it? Thanks in advance.

Yes I talking about first plate, somehow my bambu studio did not generate any support as you see in the photo. I did didn't print it yet as I was awaiting for your replay. It is save just to use support '' Type - Normal '' Style - Snug'' ? Many Thanks :)

FYI for those that want to adapt the clamp to standard camera tripods I have uploaded an adaptor for the clamp https://makerworld.com/en/models/750754#profileId-684409

absolutely beautiful design and implementation. had to change the dimension of the pads to fit my smaller gun but otherwise it’s beautiful I printed in orange ABS and black ASA for more durability. used his profile for everything other than filament. came out great.

Is it possible for a version without the sight logo on the sides? When printed it all one color, it came out super wonky because it changes how it sliced. Other than that, it came out lovely. A smooth surface on the sides would be fantastic.

Hey! i can do that no problem you will have to wait a few days i’m on holliday and have no pc, also that would be something easy to modify on bambu studio, delete all stl related to the logo, create a 0.4mm height square and combine it, but if you wait i’ll make a no logo version

Thank you for sharing. This was probably my mistake as all I did was print straight from your files but the square end of the screw wouldn’t fit into the square end of the side plate and the big screw wouldn’t fit into the other end cap hole. If I remove those end caps, it works okay but I feel like I’m missing something.

first put in the big round screw then the cap over it, the square one should just fit, its probablty a bit tight for you, just force it in,

I am about to tackle this project, can I ask why you split one of the screws and why the screws are on their side? I would have thought it would be better they are printed vertically

split in half makes is easier to print, for pulling force if you print the screw vertically you lose almost all its strenght, it will split between layers, horizontal is a totaly different story. you can print as it is setup, change colors as you like, you wont be disapointed ;)

Thanks for the reply and information. I haven't had too many issues with vertical threads but it makes sense. Do you have to put a lot of force to clamp the rifle in and being printed vertically have you had any issues with it not being round?

Awesome design. I was getting ready to buy one of these, would much rather print my own. Really wish there had been either written instructions or a video of assembly. Also, I'm in US and finding these metric parts was difficult. I used the closest imperial equivalent. Thank You for designing and sharing.
