Description

Bacteriophage Model Desk Light. It uses standard PLA for all non-translucent parts and uses translucent PETG for the capsid head, sheath liner, and light reflector. Five standard legs are needed for this print and one “power cord” leg. It has been hollowed out to allow discrete placement of the power cable. You will need a G8 socket and 110V power cord. Use LED bulb to prevent high heat.

Assembly Instructions

Glue the spike plate to the underside of the baseplate

Feed wires of G8 socket through center hole of base plate and out through leg insert, before connecting to 110V power cable.

Place wiring into power cord leg and insert leg into corresponding hole

Glue and place remaining five legs into remaining five holes

Light reflector will press in around center hole of base plate and G8 socket

Screw sheath onto base plate

Glue capsid head and colored sheath liner together

Slide collar onto sheath liner

Slide sheath liner into sheath

Good day. I love the model, but I'm having issues with the base. It is flimsy at the base, and when I went to put it together the screw-in portion did not print. Upon reslicing, part of it isn't there. It looks like the top layer before the screw might be too thin and isn't registering. Hopefully, this can be updated.

I'm unsure of how, but wall loop setting had been set to 1 and the top shell setting was set to 0. I appreciate you letting me know and it should be fixed now.
