Description

UPDATE: From the comments it was clear that some people were stuggling with this print due to tolerances not working. I have uploaded 2 print profiles for the main housing (both versions) where the tolerances for all the moving parts have been increased to allow for some more deviation in the print.

Is your (fridge) door no longer closing properly, do you want to keep pets or children out (of the fridge) or do you ever feel the need to check if you actually closed the door properly? This push button lock can be installed near the handle of your door to self-lock so that you never have that annoying feeling again. The design was made to be operated with one hand and is modular so the spring can be easily replaced it it were to fail.

Hope you guys like it and find it as usefull as I do :D

If you have a magnetic door the lock can be installed with 2 10x3mm magnets in the back.

The latch is currently designed to be attached with double sided tape as I personally don't really see many fridges with a magnetic side panel where I live.

A version where the lock can be attached with double sided tape is also available. (the only difference between the 2 is the back of the lock housing)

Thank you for the feedback! I'll see to it that there will be some revisions to the tolerance to allow for a bit more of variantion🙌🏼

Would you mind indicating where yours printed tight? That way I can adjust the corresponding dimensions😄

I think he means the small hole in the main box. It's probably the overhang where the small spring latch is passing through.. This is where it is tight in my print.

I printed it but the spring is too weak, once i click the button stay down, any advice to fix it? I printed with pla marble

I suspect it's not neccesarily the spring being too weak but moreso that it has caught on some of the overhangs in that area of the print or the button itself being seated too tightly (both fixes to be made to the design of course and nothing on your part). I have uploaded 2 new profiles for the main housing with increased tolerances that should allow for more play in the print. You should only need to print the housing again as it can be easily taken apart by pusing the latch pin all the way in and then simply taking the button out. Hopefully this helps and otherwise feel free to reach out! I'm always available for improvements :D

thxi will try the new profile, can I suggest you make other profiles with different lengths for the block piece? in my case 8cm was too short and I scaled it to 12cm but not being very good it came out aesthetically less accurate, with various measures it would become usable for all lengths of refrigerators 😁

For sure! I think I understand which piece you mean so will be uploading a new, longer version in a bit. If you could have a look to see if I adjusted the right piece that would be awesome! 😄 (I'll send you a private message once I've done so to inform you)

Other Issues:Unfortunately tolerances are a bit too tight, will need some tweaking for the material I'm using (PLA)

Thanks for the feedback! Would you mind telling me where the tolerances were off? I have printed all of mine in PLA as well and have had no issues😄

New versions have been released with increased tolerances for the main housing. Allowing for a bit more play in the print outcomes. In case you'd like to try the print again :D

Thank you for the response! I response to some people experiencing difficulty with the tolerances a model was uploaded with more spacing. This is, per description, available as one of the print profiles😄

With the way this lock is designed it's somewhat impossible for the lock to not open when the button is pushed. Therefore I am quite confused by your remark. Could you perhaps add a picture or something so I could help you out with your situation? 😄

Would you mind elaborating? A 1 star rating for the model seems out of proportion as it's been proven to work by a large amount of people. If you could tell me what is wrong in your print instead of going for the 1 star with no info provided I could help you out.
