Description

Feeling nostalgic?

Print and make your own giant bead lizard with this design of a giant bead!

Feel free to scale it down to a more reasonable size if you don't want to use so much filament.

The amount of filament used in pictures is ~4.4 KG of filament total (I bought 3 KG of pink and 2 KG of yellow). If you don't want to use that much, I recommend scaling the bead down a bit.

50 beads are required to make the lizard in the picture.

The following print recommendations are for the full sized giant bead. If you plan on scaling it down, some of the recommendations are no longer necessary.

  • 0.6 mm nozzle or larger (All my beads were printed at 0.28 mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle, but each bead took a long time to print. Bigger nozzle is better)
  • Enable supports for overhangs greater than 40 degrees. I used a fillet instead of chamfer to try to preserve the roundness of a typical bead. The supports will probably only support the bottom few layers, so there isn't a lot of waste there.

If you need help knowing how to put the lizard together, you can rest assured there are many resources online (google, youtube, etc) that can guide you in building your lizard.
