Tactical Nicotine Pouch Can Retention Holster
What started of as a joke quickly spiraled into prototype purgatory and so 9 versions later here we are!
Originally made this concept for a buddy of mine who works in law enforcement and is a sucker for everything with the label of ‘tactical’. This holster imitates those fancy high speed low drag retention holsters that have a spring release system. Great for keeping your can by your side without the worry of it dropping or being stolen!
Printed in PLA since the novelty/joke will probably degrade faster than the PLA, but i think it would also work in PETG. This is a tad of a snug fit, so hopefully you'll have dried & calibrated your filament/printer before calling out my tolerances. Some super glue will be needed for the assembly no other hardware needed.
All parts:
Step 1: Fit the belt loop on the back plate, i would apply super glue to secure it.
Step 2: Place the spring loaded button in the back plate groove. Protruding part up.
Step 3: Place the back plate cover, i would place some super glue beneath. (Note, this will be a snug'ish fit)
Step 4: Assemble the hinge
Note: Do not push the pin all the way through yet or apply glue in this part
Step 5: Glue the can catch in place, this part is here to compensate for some variety in nicotine/snus cans
Step 6: Perform the final assembly and connect the backplate to the hinge mechanism. I would use super glue on the curved indent. Finally push the pin in, this might take some force depending on your filament/machine calibration.
And voila! You have your tactical snus can holster!
