Description

Upgrade your X1 or P1 printer with the Side Spool Mount, ingeniously designed to maximise convenience and functionality. Crafted to utilise the original metal bracket from your Printer, this holder minimises waste by repurposing spare nozzle screws—or, if needed, easily install with three M3x16mm dome head allen screws, available at the Maker store link below.

Enjoy effortless installation with just three screws, making setup a breeze whether you use spare parts or opt for fresh ones. The robust metal bracket ensures durability and stability, while its removable feature keeps your workspace tidy when not in use. The pivoting PTFE holder enhances feeding dynamics for both full and empty spools, reducing friction and optimising filament flow without compromising on strength.

Elevate your printing experience with our External Spool Holder Mount—a testament to practical design and lasting performance.

This design was crafted from scratch to be both functional and unobtrusive. Once installed, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to leave a rating and feedback, as your input is invaluable to me. If you find it worthy, please consider giving it a boost. Thank you!

Works well although it seems the original metal spool bar sags a little.. This probably may be because of the PLA+ I used? Overall fine tho many thanks does the job

I've heard a couple of others with this but am really unsure what is wrong as I've printed out this in the most basic generic pla so many times testing the above and previous files and had no sag (see other pics in feedback history). The only thing I can imagine is the metal being different dimensions but that doesn't make sense. It looks like it is fully seated down in the groove, does it wiggle like it is loose? It bothers me as I would love to find a solution :))... Thank you for the feedback and rating, highly appreciate the BOOST as well :)

the bar does feel alittle loose, but not like it’s going to fall off etc.. I’ll get a better photo for you so you can see. it still works fine. much easier than reaching around.

sorry for the delay. is there a way I can send you a short video? it won’t let me on here. I having a look it appears the gap for the bar is alittle too wide so it can move if that makes sense

the model itself printed okay but when I tried to screw it in, one of the screw holes was a bit too short and k couldnt get one screw in, but I don't know if that's the model or if it was the print settings

sorry if its not the best picture, but the screw on the right sticks just a bit further out and it does not let me screw it in or tighten it, and when i turn the screw, it just spins freely, while the other one tightens well into the screwhole.

Turned out pretty good. The length of the arm is just a hair off and doesn't sit flush but that might change per individual printer.

Ok, now that you've made me look closer mine is like this. I'll fix this next time I'm in the mood to play, its cosmetic for the most part but can't not see it now lol. Thank you for the feedback and BOOST :))

Just throwing this out there but maybe making the mounting holes slotted would allow it to sit flush on the side.

Looks great, simple to print and assemble. Used Bambu's PLA so it was a very tight fit between the holder and the filament arm. But I suppose that is a good thing, don't want the filament arm to wobble around :) All in all very good!

Looking good, yes the socket for the arm is a tapered firm fit initially but does get better over time (I take mine off often). I've used .2 tolerance but this may differ between printers, I'm monitoring feedback and will increase if its a prob. Thank you very much for taking time to give feedback, the BOOST is muchly appreciated :)

Works well. I printed this in PETG and have had no problems with this.

Ok, I'm curious where the PTFE is coming/going from/to the splitter below? Thanks for the perplexing image and rating :))
