Printing and Assembly:

We have arranged the build plates and configured the settings in the 3MF file for a good balance of strength and material usage.

  • Lantern Base: This is the main structure of the lantern and requires just one-color change to achieve the effect as shown in our images.
    • Installing Bambu Lab Lamp Kit 001: After printing the base, you can simply insert the cable through the provided opening and seat the lamp at the base, it is designed with a good fit so that you do not have to use the screws or tape.
  • Shade: The lantern shade is designed to be only two layers thick using a light white filament, so it provides the room with a nice glow. This one prints with a brim and is recommended to flip it upside down after cutting of the brim for the optimal fit as the lantern top provides a little more space of the shade to slide in.
  • Handles: There are two handles that serve aesthetic purposes. The top handle will be easy enough to bend slightly to place it on the lantern top. The front handle requires an M3 heat set insert and an M3x6 machine screw to install it. If you don't have these supplies, the lantern still looks great without this handle.
  • Lantern Top: This is designed to also only have one color change to achieve the desired aesthetics. Simply place this on top of the base, ensuring that the groves are aligns with the shade and the inset track on the base, then rotate righty-tighty.

Now place the lantern in your favorite place and turn on your new adventurous light. Enjoy!

hi and thanks for a great design. I had a spare Bambu led and thought this is perfect. used clear pla and a .8 nozzle for the glass. I also put in bright green without the led on, but luminous by the black light. very cool. I will boost when able. Cheers.

I never got the top to lock. Any tips?

I am using the same rotate and lock design from the example Bambu Lab lamp kit model, just scaled up and slight adjustments for tolerance changes, so it should go on with a little rotating force until it snaps into place. If not, the filament you’re using may be a little too stiff for the design or perhaps we need to adjust the design to have larger tolerances. Is base and lamp shade at least sitting in the two ring groves in the top piece?

Once again, I love it 🥳. Now I'm able to add some pictures of my version. For the shade I use the Bambu PETG transparent and instead of the Bambu lamp Kit I use a rechargeable (and cheaper 😬) LED-Lamp which fits exactly to your design. Now I can use the lamp outside in the garden 😀

Fantastic file! I printed the shade in Bambu PLA Matte Yellow to give a little extra warmth to the light and it looks great when the lamp is turned on.

Great design. I made this for my grandson to use camping. I used transparent PETG for the clear cylinder and the green parts are Polymaker Luminous Pla. I bought a rechargeable touch light from AliExpress to light it. Thanks so much to the creator.

Excellent design! Easy to print and assemble. I used Ziro transparent caramel PLA for the lens. It creates a very warm light and distributes most of the light upward.

Amazing design ! Turned out fantastic. Printed using Elegoo matte black PLA , Sunlu matte Olive Green PLA , Sunlu white PETG for the shade and Bambu Grey PETG-HF for the handles. My only complaint is the top handle sits on an angle compared to the front handle. hard to tell but it is noticeable.

Hi there, thanks for sharing the image, and it looks awesome! it's a valid complaint. It's on my list to make another profile for the top rotated. My reasoning when designing it was that I kind of wanted to the see a bit of the handle where I was placing it in my kiddos room, but can totally see how that's not desirable.
