Description

This desiccant drybox is for the AMS Hydra Mod, but it also works perfectly with the standard AMS. It fits perfectly and the volume is larger than in other versions. There are also versions that support a Hygrometer. This is the Hygrometer I use: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0BKZXFDVX.

I compared the humidity of the the hygrometer in the silica box with another one at the position of a spool. They show the same values.

Each box hold around 100g of silica. I have had great luck with this desiccant: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013L31PQ0?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details This was Remix was transferred from Printables.com to Maker World from the links provided.

Directions for how to install the desiccant canisters into the spool are provided in the pictures. of the model. Let me know if you have any questions.

Printing

V1-4 = Lost to the sands of time.

V5 = Now with 100% more desiccant funnel action!

V6 = Now includes Desiccant Canisters for the Filament Spool!

V7 = Now with reinforced canisters, faster printing time, and increased filament efficiency. Also includes drybox that supports hygrometer with “12&6” tabs.

V8 = Now with double-reinforced dry boxes, “Full Set” print profiles for 11&5 Hygrometer tabs, 12&6 Hygrometer tabs, and No Hygrometer dry boxes. Custom tray inserts with removable back panel to allow user to fill desiccant with included funnel. Updated print settings for faster prints.

V9 = Universal hygrometer dry box introduced to avoid hygrometer tab issues and custom filament desiccant canisters that lock into place, all with efficient print profiles with .28mm layers.

Meeeega… Is there an STL file for your prints? Insertion under the printer? Lattice on the right side of the printer? Frame around the glass plate on top of the printer? What’s that in the AMS directly on the spool or filament?

Great print. I ran out of black and ended up finishing it in blue. It worked out great. Almost looks intentional.

These worked out great. No problem getting them to fit. I had a spool binding problem that caused the front containers to pause mid print for a couple hours, and sadly the hydrometer one split when I put it in and had to re-print. But that was on me. I ended up printing extra of the spool holders to have them to be able to store filament in vacu-bags, and I will probably print more in the future.

Your design is perfectly fine. The problem was completely on my end. I sadly did not snap the spool completely shut when I transferred the refill. This caused the spool to split and the filament to bind mid print, pausing the print for a few hours. Due to this after I loaded a new spool, it did not bind properly. The other pieces were fine overall. Due to the hydrometer piece having a tolerance fit, it split from the pressure of putting the hydrometer in. After re-printing, it worked fine.

This was easy to print out overnight in Rainbow Silk PLA and after adding the decicant to all the containers and placing them in my AMS, the rating went from a 5 to a 1. Using the funnel to fill them was super easy. I liked how the funnel slide locks onto each container to make filling easy. Once I figured out that the back container lids snap on the inside lip not the outside lip, all the lids were easy to secure so I didn't have to chase escaped decicant beads all over the place.

AliExpress has them as well. Better price, but a longer shipping time. I bought a bunch, and keep some of them in filament bags with spools in storage.

I printed the desiccant tray inserts and the back is all one piece in the V8 version. Did something change? Also, I noticed some holes in the bottom of those trays. Do I need to get a different version of these trays so that the back comes out like other pictures show for filling?

They should print with a slot in the back, try printing "Trays V8" profile and let me know if its still an issue. There should not be any holes in the bottom, very weird

I downloaded "Trays+V8.1_stls" profile and sliced it on the Bambu slicer and this is what it shows. There is no "back door" that shows up. Everything else has printed 100% fine.
