What did I do wrong? do I need to activate supports? first grid was perfectly adhered to build plate, the second one detached… found this mess this morning
Second attempt, made sure .2 layer is selected, increased bed temp, nozzle temp, decreased speed, it failed exactly the same, I believe it could be my room, is too cold and making second grid to warp and then nozzle bumps it out of place… any ideas?
I'm having the same issue right now. The first grid is warping too much at the corners and ultimately gets knocked out by the nozzle. Thinking some glue, a higher quality filament, or a different build plate may do the trick
it printed out well enough, but I believe at least with my Sunlu PLA+ with the base profile each section did not have enough separation from one another to be able to detach each section from the next. Essentially, it made the print not usable at all as I cannot separate anything without damaging it greatly. Maybe a print profile or remix is needed that separates each section better.
Fits perfectly in the drawer Thank you for the model🫶🏼 The print plate where all the grids are printed at once unfortunately didn't work for me, so I printed each part individually 👌🏼
Just wanted to say that for anyone considering this to check their Ikea Alex drawers - they aren't all the same depth. This kit is for 12 grids deep plus a spacer. Mine holds 10 grids deep EXACTLY. This kit (which I used in part), isn't designed for that size and you'll have issues. It's not the designer's fault, but I wish in the description he included this info to save people from printing the wrong ones for their drawers. Otherwise this print is excellent and worked really well for me.
What Alex do you have? The 9 drawer? It appears that one is bit shorter in depth than the 5 drawer units. I had not noticed that before and will definitely make that clearer.
The 9 drawer. As I did more research today I totally see this is what's going on. The 9 drawer is still 7 wide, but only 10 deep, not 12. It's nearly exact. Front to back, it's 10 grids (with the half grid lines on the edges, not full ones obviously), plus around 2mm. My drawers are 425mm deep by my measurement, which you can verify by the grid description above. Maybe you could make an alternate profile for that? I'd love that, I'd still need to print a couple more, and I suspect others would get some real use out of it.
This is the product page. Of course the measurements only show the total drawer depth including the front and the sides (which protrude out the back slightly).

Thanks for following up!
I honestly do not understand why I am the only one having difficulties with this print. I printed this overnight, and it came out fine, but there was so little separation between each section I couldn't fit anything but an exacto knife through the gaps. It proved too difficult to separate due to this, so I gave up on this print. I did use the print profile suggested. I almost wish it used just a bit more separation between each section so you can just take scissors to each separator and snip it off. I did use PLA Tough, maybe it was too strong of a filament.
I haven't tried using ToughPLA so that could possibly have been the issue. I was able to pull these apart with just my hands. I understand what you mean, though, as the stacked multiboard prints required the use of a putty knife to get apart!
I will do a test print using a PETG middle layer as that supposedly would make separation a lot easier, but that won't be an option for everyone.
