Are you worthy for the challenge of the year and fight for your House? Do you posses great magical power, fear no dragons and have a brave heart? In that case, put your name in the goblet of fire, be our champion and take part in the greatest championship in the world and be the winner of the Triwizard Cup!
The origin of the model is clearly coming from the Harry Potter universe. Harry is fighting for the Triwizard Cup and 1000 Galleons, athough at the end he is tricked into Voldemorts trap as it turns out to be a portkey!
Unfortunately, there are only very few pictures of the movie version and only a few replicas created by other designer, therefore I had to balance between my own modeling skills and the inspiration from the few pictures I was able to find.
I really wanted to make sure it is glowing in the dark, therefore I have put in two LEDs which I can light up with an RC in different colours.
Both, printing and assembly is really easy and should be no cause no problems. For some parts, I have created a “connector” which makes it easier to glue them together. If you want to carry the Cup around, I highly recommend using a superglue, although be careful as after gluing the bottom part, adding a new LED is currently not possible anymore. Later, I will create a V2 for the stand to solve this issue.
For the figures, printing will be more of a challenge as they have some fine details but I tried to make sure they are printer friendly. I have uploaded two versions, a spitted one and the whole model for both figures, choose as you wish and try to find the best printing option which works for you. I had some issues with adhision, but printing and gluing in two parts solved it.
The parts are printed in Vallejo's Metallic White Gold colour, which looks really sick! I can recommend this paint, although I am sure it will looks as awsome with silver, steel etc. The two white parts are printed without infill (thin enough) so the LEDs can shine through.
It is not necessary to put in lights, although in the evening, it really is an eye catching cup which can light up in different colours!
The lights I used is 30(d)x22mm purchased by Amazon, if you need a link let me know.
The model itself is appr. 33cm high with the stand.
I have been working on the model for a few weeks now and I am glad it came out that great! I am really excited to see how it turns out for other people. If you want to make it even more badass, you can resin cast the two shining parts, thats what I will do next!
