Years ago, I made some really basic butterfly wing shoelace decorations that were meant to be laced into the top few holes on high tops making your right and left shoe each have a wing! The design was really basic, because I'm just not that artistic, but now with the help of Craiyon (AI generated art) and Hueforge, I made more realistic, pretty, and fun butterfly wing shoe decorations!

This design in a fun blue wing. I generated the design with Craiyon and then did edits in Photoshop until the shades were the way I wanted and the shape was just right. Then I sent it to Hueforge to get my colors and layers just right. I went back and forth between Photoshop and Hueforge until I was happy with how all the colors came out and then it was time for the Slicer! In the slicer, I used simple holes I had made and spaced out in Tinkercad as a negative part on my wings to make the shoelace holes.

I started with the large size and while I liked them, I worried they were too big. Then I made smaller ones that seemed to small. So I made yet another size that was between the two. The largest one has three holes and the medium and smaller one just have two. I spaced these out based on my shoes so if you need different spacing, let me know. The center of the holes are roughly 18.30cm apart.

I did these with just 4 colors: black, white, and two shades of blue. It would be fun to see these in other colors as well! I also used the .08mm Extra Fine settings and ironed all top layers. When they were done printing, I used a Triple Thick spray to seal and protect the design.

Layers 1 - 14 : Black

Layers 15 - 17 : Inland Egyptian Blue

Layers 18 - 21 : Light Blue (Inland)

Layers 22 - Top : White
