This is the Marine Corps' F-35B Lightning II in STOVL mode. It is the only variant out of the three within the F-35 program that has the capability of Short Take-Off Vertical Landing. It was initially designed to be a light, agile multirole fighter comparable to the F-16, but as more capabilities were added, the aircraft gained a considerable amount of weight, earning it the name "Fat Amy" or the "Battle Penguin" due to its short wingspan compared to the length of its fuselage. Nonetheless, it is a highly capable and very lethal stealth penguin in the US military arsenal.
Like all my models I've posted, every bit of this is drawn from scratch using Autodesk Fusion. The stand design I came up with was inspired by the Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS) used on the F-35s, giving it a unique look that sets it apart from some of the stands you can find online.
