Was looking for a solution to not having a 10” rackable HDD hotswapable bay. Modified the stl and made this. Made my week! Great design and a Flex PSU spot! The 10” rack is from DeskPi.

Love this design! I printed this in black PETG on a Bambu Carbon X1. I am running unraid with 52 tb of storage space. I modified a few things, the first being the powers supply design, it didn’t fit my SFX power supply so I modified it to fit what I had. I purchased extension cables for both the PC mainboard, CPU and sata power supply cables (all from Amazon). The sata backplane connectors I ordered from AliExpress, the screws I ordered from McMaster as stated by the designer. The extension cables were needed mainly due to me using the computer I did and mounting the power supply in this enclosure vs closer to the motherboard as it typically would be. I decided to use a spare Ryzen 5600G/ATX motherboard instead of one of my ITX/N100 units. I did this so I had slots for my 10GBE card and something else (just in case). I just mounted the motherboard on top of the enclosure using a 3d printed ATX frame and command hooks (yep it’s velcroed down – the rack is the case is how I look at it) Like others I had many issues with clearance with the cables and fans, so I just mounted the fans on the outside of the fan shroud. I have fan guards on order and will put them on the fans just to be safe once they come in. I have my rack pull out shelf under this as it’s pretty heavy and if I need to work on the computer for any reason I can just remove the rack studs/screw and pull the whole unit out.

Do you mind sharing stl for the SFX power supply part? I have a spare sfx and don't want to get another one.

Printed great. You do have to be careful about which Mini SFF-8087 to SFF 8088 card you purchase though. Many of them have a bit of extra space between the external ports and won't fit the slots. Look for the models that have the two ports touching such as these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CHNSK7GV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Filled this with 12TB HGST Drives. I installed the fans but the drives run quite hot (58C) I have the fans as exhaust. Im going to try reversing the fan flow to see if I can get the temps under control. Also, I printed this with PETG, I do notice sagging when fully loaded. I installed cable management bracket underneath the enclosure to maintain some rigidity.

Thanks for the feedback, you are the first that had problem with temp. Give us an update with the fan reversed (pushing air on the drives)

Great design. Co you have any info on wiring in the power switch into the PSU?

For the switch use pin 16 and 17 like the picture For the LED, use a Black wire (GND) -IF YOUR LED IS 5V, use a red wire (+5V) -IF YOUR LED IS 12V, use a yellow wire (+12V)

Finally got around to adding the back half/fans and have to say it's well designed and easy to print enclosure. I added some hot glue to the connectors as at least with my cables they are pretty loose. Also chopped the tray design to create some smaller blanks, unsure if I'll be getting more {hdd, ssd}'s ) Will have to see on the temps but I feel more air being pulled in than the hot-swap bays in my nas' case. And at least currently I only see a 2c spread among all my drives (case and this enclosure).

Nice rack, I did modify it to fit my needs by stacking 2 side by side minus the psu addon on top of an old GPU mining rack i had laying around. Still printing the final pieces but great work.
