Description

A fun toy gun that launches discs with a magazine for 15 discs of 20mm.

It shoots with great speed and accuracy at short distances.

Completely printable design.
No need for extra screws or glue.
Just 2 elastic bands for the push mechanism of the magazine and the trigger striker.
Use a pair of fine-tipped pliers to help you with the assembly of the rubber bands.
Skills are required for assembling the mini gun.
The design consists of multiple parts with very tight tolerances.
Use PTFE(Teflon) grease for perfect operation and increase performance.
Please perform a filament flow calibration!
Use previously dehydrated and high-quality filaments.

Well, it COULD be a fun toy. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. Most of the assembly needs to be figured out from what is not shown in the photos. But since there are so few pieces, it's not an overwhelming task. I think I spent more time cutting and tying knots in rubber bands than I did printing the whole Disc Launcher! This is certainly not a project for someone with unsteady hands, poor eyesight, or little patience. I would suggest starting out with some VERY small rubber bands rather than trying to cut larger ones. The 1-inch diameter ones I used proved to be challenging. I'd recommend using 1/2-inch diameter, relatively thick bands, like the kind used to hold small parts for assembly in flat-packs and such. Once I did manage to wrangle the rubber bands, it provided a few seconds of awe and confusion for my kitten. A project worth trying at least once. ;-)

It is a very neat and simple design. The only downside are the tiny rubber bands, lol. As I mentioned usng smaller elastic bands fron the get go rather than cutting longer ones could help. Oh, and maybe the addtion of a speed loader. A few times I've had the magazine spit all the discs back out while loading, lol. The itty bitty intidcator tab on the side does help to hold the follower down, but if you don't have much finger nail that can be an issue. ;-)

The bayonet was tight, and I cut it a little flat. I had a duel with my wife with this toy, and I won hahaha, it was so much fun. Needless to say, the street was a little cold in the early morning, and I had to find a bench to sleep on.

directions are tough to follow, it’s very cool, but even with lube the magazine catches a bunch and is less than semiautomatic unless I have the bottom cap off and push up with my finger. The grooves for the rubber band need to be deeper to hold in the rubber band and knot. why does the plunger of the magazine have a moving part. maybe I’m am doing it wrong?

Have you thought about redesigning the magazine to add a retaining lip or even just a floating tab at the back of the mag (where the tip of my thumb is in the picture) to keep the ammo from spilling out if the piston tab slips from your hands? It might also require modifying the upper and lower receivers to make it fit, but it might allow for spare mags to be preloaded.
