Description

Reupload of existing design from FormFutura on Printables (https://www.printables.com/model/855880-ribbed-glue-gun-sticks)

Description:

You have a little bit of filament left so these Ribbed Sticks can be used for fixing and glueing your other projects. To prevent wasting all the small bits and pieces. The ridges make sure your glue gun can grip the stick.

Blog About this design:

Instructions:

You can use the Ribbed Sticks in your average hot glue gun with a diameter of 10mm

To use the Ribbed Sticks in a smaller glue gun you can also scale it down.

Print the Ribbed Sticks with 100% infill to make sure you make efficient use of space.

Has anyone tried printing a hollow version of this and filled it with "poop" bits/shredded supports?

yes it does and it’s actually useful to fix broken prints 👍 but unfortunately not for glueing pieces together as well 👌

Getting lots of stringing while using this in the hot glue gun, how can I adjust the hot glue gun retraction settings, or temp?

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS!!! We just tried it and it jammed up our glue gun. Doesnt seem to get hot enough to melt the PLA so we can get it all out. 👎🏼

Depends on how hot your specific gun gets. This should work perfectly well in guns that reach a high enough temperature.

For 3D printing Bambu PLA, Bambu Lab reccomends 190-230 C. Although I would imagine the viscocity would be quite high at 190, so you probably wanna be closer to the 230-region for a glue gun to work as intended. Maybe some 3D filament brands sell PLA with lower melting temps and/or lower viscocity.

Not sure how well the PLA will bind pieces together, but you can probably use it as "caulk" between joint pieces to reduce the visibility of seems
