Description

A GIANT Pinball Flipper Bat as a lightbox with Williams logo

Check out my other light box in the same series(picture on the right)

This model is a decent copy of a real pinball flipper bat.
It is scaled up to 360% in Bambu Studio so the LED lights can fit in it. Perfect to hang on the wall in your pinball room/man cave.

Its printed in PLA Tough but normal PLA should work as well. The white front of the flipper bat is quite thick so the light can diffuse. Use bright LEDs.

The backside lid of the flipper bat can be printed in PLA as well but I printed mine in PETG so it doesn't crack when I screw it to the wall.

I highly recommend using the print profile I created. Otherwise, there is a big risk that some details will not be visible.

You can use Bambu Labs LEDs or buy ones of your choice.

Great design. Do you have a model that would be a right side flipper?

Do you have any plans to make both sides for the flippers? I think it would look cool to mount two of them on the wall each side. Thanks.

I am looking to print this a bit quicker, I just wanted to know why the layers for the RED part, aren't red inside? It would reduce 4 hours and some filament to not have all the filament changes.. Does having the white inner layers affect the reflectiveness of the light?

I understand what you mean by reducing printing time. Actually didn't think that far when I drew the model. But if it is red on the inside, the red can probably shine through even where it should be white.

I went ahead and made this modification, just painted the layers for the bumper all the way through. it turned out awesome and saved 4 hours for each flipper. Thanks for getting back to me though. You made an awesome lightbox here! I used some off white led strips to give it an older look and it turned out exactly as I hoped!!!

First boost token I have given out... Love these signs! Do you have or did you follow any tutorials on how you made these?

Thanks! No, I took some measurements of an original pinball bat and drew it in Fusion. Found the logo of williams and balley online. Inserted them and made some adjustments.. hard to explain.

Printed on my X1C with AMS, this required a slight tweaking to settings due to having an issue with the thin script font lines between letters. I had to mess with the Detect Thin Wall setting to alleviate the issue.

Strange… In my print profile detect thin walls and Arachne wall generator is activated.
