Description

I know there are plenty of honeycomb shelves around, but I couldn't find one like the one I had in my mind.

I wanted something that I could expand without making new holes, and no visible screws!

The ones in the pictures is held by just two nails, and it can be expanded even further!

Hi Daniele! I love the stackable design as I don’t want to nail every shelf and make a bunch of holes in the wall. My only question is, if I wanted to scale this one or the “standard” one to something bigger, how do I go on about the adapters? I want smaller ones and bigger ones but I’m very fresh to 3D printing. Your help is much appreciated! ❤️

Thanks for the support! It's very appreciated! If you need to scale the standard shelf, you need to scale also the adapters and the mini ones, but the risk is that the locking system won't be so tight anymore. I guess up to 10% should be fine, but it's just a guess... how big do you need it to bie?

I think I'd need it to be around 20-22cm in height max. But I could also definitely go for the standard size with an "open roof" if that makes sense. Something like this one https://makerworld.com/en/models/60775?from=search#profileId-62973 The most important aspect is they maintain your stackable functionality.

That's quite large! I wouldn’t recommend increasing the size that much, but you can always give it a try. Just keep in mind that there’s a risk of wasting a lot of filament!I was considering adding something like that, but would it work to simply place the model directly on top of the shelf? I'm also working on additional pieces to make the top wider and flatter, allowing it to support longer models when laid down. I hope that makes sense!

suggestion, a template piece that I can screw and lineup the anchors would be great. Sort of like a print that is only .25 inches tall and open in the middle so I can screw through it and then pull off and put the piece on it. Not sure if that makes sense.

The template should hold two anchors (hooks) in plase so they can be aligned, right? Good idea!

I printed out a bunch of these for my daughters rock collection. this might be one of my favorite things I’ve printed so far. I’d love to see a medium size that I could use for my vinyl figures that are a bit too big for the small size.

I was working on a medium size, but unfortunately, it didn’t fit as nicely as I hoped. I have other ideas in mind, so I’ll be releasing more pieces soon! Thanks for the boost!

how do you print the larger version? did you have to scale it or was it one of his options?

I think it was the "Standard one", the one in the picture at least, otherwise if you scale it up, the adapters won't work. Going to release an even bigger version soon!

I scaled it up to 300% for my Lego helmets. there were a few hiccups, but ultimately I’m happy with the results.

I really like your design! It is very nice that the lock is hidden so that you can combine different colors and still keep the hexagon shapes! I printed them a little less deep (23 mm) and added two Lego studs so they can be used to store/display my son’s Lego mini figures. He really enjoy being able to quickly find the figures he wants to play with and I enjoy the added colors 😊
