Description

  • Fits on A1 Mini buildplate. Prints in 1 piece
  • Clearly see all filaments head on (especially if on heigh shelf)
  • Matches the original AMS stand design style
  • No screws needed. Thanks to precise friction fit

I saw the other vertical stand models on makerworld. I like the idea of saving space but didn't love their design so I made my own one. I'm super happy how this turned out and looks.

Update: Version 2 is now out. I've removed 1mm thickness from each side to add more clearance. This will reduce rubbing that could occur with some spools.

Conclusion

Lots of testing, CAD and filament went into making this model. If you like my designs and want to contribute to future projects consider:

Great design, thanks! If it helps anyone, I am using it with the "Ultimate Filament Spool Enclosure for AMS Lite" (https://makerworld.com/en/models/486153#profileId-584752) and it fits tight but otherwise seems to be ok

Great fit. Allows me to keep a lot more desk space and much sturdier than the original stand. Thank you.

Nice idea on the rear cabinet instead of wall mount. Did you have to extend your ams lite cable or was there enough length. I'm waiting for my A1 combo to arrive and trying to plan out my desk space, but don't see a 4 pin extender cable on the Bambu website. Thanks for the idea. Greg

It's this model, https://makerworld.com/en/models/120009#profileId-129148, and it works great!

The filament rolls grind against the stand? I think the wall could be made slightly thinner without losing much strength.

Only seems to be an issue with the wider bambu rolls though. Will be interesting to see how my PLA holds up to constant force as well :)

Yes it does. It fucks up your prints because he's not moving freely. LEarned it the hard way. A complete spool of PETG vanished on this prints because i made 4 of those things. because they looked great.

It's not affecting my print quality in any way shape or form though. It's not sticking to the stand it's just riding on it.

What’s that underneath your AMS?

That's the SUNLU FilaDryer S4. It's hard to see, but I printed a plate to set on top of the S4, so the AMS doesn't sit directly on the top doors. It slides back to front to allow easier filament loading. I haven't used the dryer yet, and should probably print the plate in something other than PLA before I do, since the top surface will get hot, but wanted to test the fit of the top-plate first.

Nice! Currently drying my filament in my air fryer haha. Are the PTFE tubes on your ams the standard length?

Nice build! I'm rocking a similar build but I run PTFE from dryer to AMS lite using https://makerworld.com/en/models/467088. Not sure if its better to leave it open or put it in tubes.

A closed system with PTFE tubing is definitely preferable, as filament always absorbs moisture However, since I don't have any at the moment, it's open Thank you for your reply I will connect some in the future

if you are talking about slot 4 on the ams it is the esun pla+ “Green”. it’s like a nice forest green color, I love it!
