Description

Are you tired of boxes slipping and sliding around your trunk? Not anymore with these vehicle trunk retainers. Construction is easy. Print and attach 20mm velcro hooks to the retainer's foot. The best aspect of this design is the velcro allows for the retainers to be infinitely reused and reorganized.

Print Settings

  • Use a 0.4mm nozzle, I cannot guarantee the success of other sizes
  • warmer climates should consider printing this in ABS or ASA
  • 15% infill
  • .25mm first layer to improve adhesion.

Update - proven that articulated retainer can print laying flat, which is much easier and quicker to print. Print profile adjusted to include this change

I’m working on my third attempt with the articulating part of this print. I’ve had numerous bed adhesion issues on my P1P with the textured pei plate and pla on this file. I’m trying it with the Bambi bed glue and slowing the speed down 50%. The single piece prints without an issue.

I appreciate your comment. User E.T. has released a version of the 90-degree tab to increase stability while printing. Perhaps their profile is better suited. I printed mine in the original orientation using a texture PEI sheet without any signs of adhesion issues. Are you printing with an exotic material such as PLA Silk? Have you double-checked your Z offset? I do not mean to come off as condescending I want you to enjoy my models with as little waste as possible. :D

In a worst-case scenario, you can attempt to print it lying down as well. The only problem is I haven't tried it and don't know if the hinge will fuse :/ I'll run a test print overnight and if it works I'll update my profile! update - starting the test print now! update 2.0 it pritns successfully laying down. the new print profile will include this fix and should adhere much easier.
