Introduction: This model is a remix based on N33 Designs’ automatic rotating base. The original author's works gave me a lot of inspiration, thank him for his excellent design.
Modification:
Add lithium battery power supply. Supports 1 or 2 batteries in parallel.
Modify the LED installation method. Changed to DuPont plug-in for easy disassembly and assembly.
Add magnets to attach the moon. Convenient positioning and firmly attachment of the moon.
The motor mounting base is lowered by 0.3mm. Somehow, after printing the original design (using Bambu Lab PLA black filament), the gears were slightly taller, so I lowered the motor mounting base by 0.3mm.
Add Non-Slip Mat Anti-slip, if you can’t find non-slip mats, you can print them with TPU.
BOM:
*Lithium battery charge circuit board 1pc https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=647734829372 Size: 26mm*19mm Alternatively, you can use the charging circuit board in Bambu Kit 013 "BooKoo Coffee Electric WDT", but the model needs to be modified to fit the size of this circuit board.
*Bambu LED Kit 001 or alternative 1pc It is recommended to use the alternative which has a hole in the center. If you use the Bambu LED Kit 001, you need to drill a Φ3 hole in the center. https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=702983794069
*N20 motor 6V 30rpm 1pc https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=525167243889 Motors with different speeds have different gearbox sizes. The model is suitable for 6V 30rpm motors. If you use motors with other speeds, you need to modify the model.
Dupont Connector 2.54mm Pitch 2P 1pc
*Male 90 Degree Pin Header 2.54mm Pitch 2P 1pc https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=626901934945 You need to use non-standard headers with a long end of 8mm. If you can't find them, you can also use standard headers, but the contact distance is shorter.
2.7Ω 1W resistor 1pc The original power cord of the LED module has a resistance of about 3Ω, which acts as a current limiter. After the power cord is removed, the current will increase, and the heat generated by the LED will cause the LED base to deform, so a 2.7Ω resistor needs to be connected in series to limit the current.
*If you are outside China, aliexpress is worth a try.
Circuit diagram:
Assembly instructions:
The PWM motor speed control board needs to remove the binding posts.
The LED power+ needs to be led from the back of the PWM motor speed control board (refer to the circuit diagram).
The battery spring contact plate needs to be trimmed to 14mm wide.
Considering that PLA material is not resistant to high temperatures, it is recommended to weld the wires of the battery spring contact plate first, and then insert them into the base.
Insulating tape needs to be pasted on the back of the LED module.
LED pin headers need to be protected with heat shrink tubing or insulating tape.
It is recommended to apply some lube to N20 motor gearbox.
I used your model to make the base and the effect is great, but the motor noise is annoying. I tried two other motors and they worked well, but the model needs to be modified. Could you please provide a modifiable model? I tried converting the mesh to solid many times, but it didn't work out well.
I have uploaded a print profile with magnets:
https://makerworld.com/en/models/44705#profileId-679946
I used Easythreed Matte PLA Milk White with a 0.16mm layer height. You can also change the layer height to 0.2, which will be much faster.
Additionally, I tried many types of N20 motors, and most of them are quite noisy, but there are some individual differences. If you want less noise, you can buy several and choose from them.
