Description

Who needs a rubber duck when you have a crochet one? Another addition to my growing collection of crochet/ knitting inspired models.

The photos show the model at its default scale with a height of around 95mm. The crochet pattern is likely to not show well if it is scaled down smaller than this, however I haven't tested it. You may want to experiment with a smaller scale and layer height.

Print Guide:

Prints in one piece and can be painted either by hand or in the slicer if you have an AMS.

Walls/Perimeters: Any. Purely decorative so doesn't need any strength.

Infill: Any. Same as above.

Supports: None

Layer Height: ≤ 0.2mm. Model was printed at 0.2mm layer height. A smaller layer height would give more detail

Material: Any. PLA used here but any can be used

Fun duck! I make figurines when i'm bored and leave them about when I'm in town. I added pupils to the eyes. i was able to scale and arrange 96 on the build plate. Thanks for sharing your design!

Little bummed. Tried to print 2x and both times found her laying on her back with the top of her head missing. Guess she is going to wear a hat. Designer..wondering if there is a way to make the beak turned more upward so she doesnt look so sad?

Keep trying! I was trying to capture aspects of real duck bill, so that's how I ended up with this shape. I never actually considered that it looked sad...

It's a really nice model and print profile, I had my doubts on printing with no supports but it turned out perfect. The only issue was the black filament showing up from the inside around the head even with "Flush into object's infill" turned off. Maybe adding more walls at that height range would help

Thank you! Seems like it could be more of an issue with flushing volumes, it's likely that the ones included in the profile need to be increased slightly to stop the colour bleed with your particular filament

Love these little guys. Reduced them down by about 50%, added a part (torus) so that I could make these into keychains. Turned out perfectly.

The print profile is no longer public

There were no issues with the print profile. The print completed 100% with perfect results. When it was time to remove the print it came off extremely easy. The fact that it printed with absolutely 0 supports just blows my mind. I am extremely impressed. My wife will appreciate this small gift in the morning. Thank you creator.
