Description

I designed this cam style ski holder to keep skis up off the ground and easy to grab. Simply lock the cams on the skis and friction does the rest. To remove you just need to lift up and away.

For hardware you need 3" long ¼-20 bolts (https://www.mcmaster.com/91247A554/) and nuts (https://www.mcmaster.com/95615A120/)

For the grip I used 3" wide 1/8" thick neoprene rubber strips, cut to length (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CGZPP9M?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)

I tried to use neoprene that was already adhesive backed, but the adhesive was not strong enough. I used some E6000 glue and that seems to work great.

Have you thought about splitting the object and adding assembly pins in the slicer? just checked and printing the front/back plate allows it to fit on mini at 100%. uploaded the profile for up. prints will with some support.

Hey thanks for the model! Printing with PETG-HF is causing me some trouble with the overhangs on the hooks though. Any chance you can make the hooks use 45 degree chamfers instead of fillets? It would also be great if you could upload a STEP file instead of STL for smooth arc printing! Thanks!

Hi can the cams be screwed directly into a plank of wood, skipping the base plate?

You could, but part of the design relies on the gears keeping the cams symmetrical. Without the gears its not as user friendly to get skis to lock in, and have a higher chance of slipping out.

Thanks buddy! I'm super new to this and didn't appreciate that aspect. What's the weight of a completed unit? Or does it say somewhere and I am missing it?

Depends on the print profile you go with, but the one I have posted uses 351 grams of filament

No I've found it comes together pretty easy, but I'd be happy to make some

What screws did you use to attach the hooks?

Prefect print Designe. I used to have to stand my skis in the corner and now I am able to hang our skis on the wall and not worry about any more damage to the edges.
