A Qi wireless charger phone stand for your Pixel 6a (with aftermarket Qi receiver) and with room for a play.date gaming console!
Update 20/March/2024: adding CAD source links for anyone eager to remix/modify/etc
- Onshape source [link]; for the [shim] and [phone stand]
- Tinkercad source: [link]; for the [base]
-----
Print as 3 separate parts: [base], [phone stand], and [shim]
Building the phone stand:
- Slide the Qi charger into the top slot of the [phone stand] with USB connector facing downward.
- Route a USB cable through the hole in the back of the [base] and up into the Qi charger.
- Slide the [shim] into the top of the [phone stand], behind the Qi charger, to press it forward toward the vacant area your phone will later occupy.
- Slide the [phone stand] into the large opening in the [base] with the Qi charger facing the two smaller slots.
- The printed object is now fully assembled! it should hold together by friction alone, but feel free to use some superglue as desired.
Using the phone stand:
- Drop your Pixel 6a with aftermarket Qi charging receiver onto the phone stand.
- The Qi charger will align perfectly if using the same Qi charger as I use (recovered from a Relay Pro retail package).
- If the alignment is off you might want to modify the design before building (and especially before using superglue).
- The two smaller slots in the front of the [base] are designed to receive a [play.date] gaming console.
- If your play.date includes the (optional) OEM cover: please open the cover, fold it behind the play.date, and slide the cover into the smaller slot while sliding the play.date into the larger slot at the front of the [base].
