Description

Ultimate Spool Series

I had problems with the spools already published and I needed some practice in Fusion so i started to make my own filament spool from scratch. I print nearly everything with AMS, so I needed a AMS Bambu filament spool with the following propertys:

Clip integrated (clickable clip), fixes filament within the first 20 mm
Tight lock mechanism
Very good result with "only" PLA
Respool inserting points
a scale
stable but possible lightweight
Label integrated and changeable
optimized for 3d printing on every edge
no supports

The spool was tested in AMS and printed with a P1S in PLA and with 0,20mm standard profile. No need to make any changes.

A big insparation was the work of @KobaRiley with his ClipSpool V2 . I liked the idea of having the clips integrated and the changeable labels so much, that it was a must have. Thanks for that

integrated second clickable clip for respooling ( left and right of the “nose”

both sides are “empty” in the body but very stable through structure. You can also see the scale on thes render. It goes from 10 - 100 %

Labels

There are a few finished labels in the Folder Labels you can instant use. If you want to have your own Textstyle or whatever :D please feel free to use the .step file to create your own in CAD or you can also use my predefined Make a Sign Template.

Download json templatefile: This One
Go to Make my Sign Page
Click “Create from Blank” (On top right corner)
In the dialog “Start with Template”, click “Import template(JSON file) >”
Select the downloaded file from step one from your filesystem
Accept change diolog
Change the Text like you want it
Download your customized Sign
Assemble a blank Label with your new Sign

- integrated filament Clip (a little bit too strong), both sides, AMS compatible - Changeable Filament-name-clip - make your own name-clips - if stronger spool neccessary (for winding or vacuum) > I increas infill - Spools fit perfect and strong enough You did it amazing professional. Danke @deniskenntjeder, hoffe es geht nicht zu streng. Sieht auf den Fotos ein wenig nass gedruckt aus, aber solange alles funktioniert ist ja alles fine :D

Seems perfect for Bambu Lab refills. The system for label is a good idea.

I only use bambu lab refills, so yes, its for that. Are other filaments rolls different?

I'm not sure if other refills are different, but some spool models are 1-2mm too large, causing the filament to go to the sides and get stuck. Your model seems correct and if it wasn't, you would have seen it as you only use Bambu Lab! :) I had some eSun refills before, but they are difficult to find now. I I buy an eSun I will test it with your spool.

Really like the integrated features. Unfortunately, in not sure how to prevent the spool from flexing wide when I respool.

oh, that’s not good. I never did a respool, I only testet the feature to fix the filament to do so. I’m very busy at the moment, but I will check for a solution for a stiffer version.

My favorite spool design so far. Every feature I wanted in a single spool. Minor suggestion is to add the space for a label and the filament gauge to both sides. When switching between the A1 and X1, it is often hard to orient so that everything is visible on both

Thanks for your comment and pictures! did you print the label into the spool? The labels are a bit smaller then the spool, that’s why it printed not so well at this point. I will make you a version with a fixed, not changeable label if you want. btw, we are „wallbrothers“
